What was up with the random HR Giger vagina monster in SoR2? Not only it looked odd but the physics were unlike anything in the game.

>>12552672The coolest, spookiest level in any side scrolling fighter. DAMN this game is so good.
>*Yuzo Koshiro:* _laughs_ I knew this would come up eventually. Okay, I’ll set the record straight since it’s all fiction now. The Alien stage wasn’t originally planned for SoR2 at all. In 1993, right after Streets of Rage 2 1, a small group at SEGA Japan pitched a side project. It was meant to be the next logical step for Sonic. Not the colorful platformer, but a darker, more mature action title. Think gritty cyberpunk tone, faster pace, more violent. The working title was something like “Sonic: Shadow Directive.” It never got an official name. The idea was to show what a 16-bit Sonic could look like if you pushed the Genesis hardware toward a more adult aesthetic. We even prototyped a stage set on an alien derelict ship. The music was industrial, heavy synths, dissonant. That track is basically what you hear in SoR2s Alien stage.

>>12552729Willingness to reinvent the wheel and try new things?
>>12552804Pretty sure this is the equivalent of making an edgy doom clone with Mario characters
>>12552672Mr. X got weird after his first defeat.
>>12552705I can't find anything about that, so I'm going to assume this post is bullshit
>>12552839Am I supposed to think it's a bad thing?
>>12552925Amusement park funhouses really are a dated concept apparently. They used to be the most fun shit at piers and parks during halloween but I guess its just a foreign concept now.
>>12552918He's a brain in a jar in the third game, so yeah
>>12553075Are you having a stroke?
>>12553000yea
>>12553147The alien boss isn't some tech demo, funhouses were a thing when the game was made, and the boss is supposed to be an animatronic in one. This wouldn't have needed explanation when the game came out. Do people think its an actual pirate ship too?
>>12552672Can you really not understand environmental storytelling? Didn't you notice that you were walking through a theme park for that whole level? The same level that had an arcade, and a PIRATE SHIP!?
The amusement park and baseball stadium stages give SoR2 a level of soul you don't quite find in 1 or 3
>>12555705only SoR2 let's you Do Baseball
