Did you ever beat it?
>>12552985Im not sure, if I say I did some pathetic dweeb on this board will tell me I didnt beat the game because saturn wasnt in retrograde when I was playing it or some shit.
you didnt beat the game if you played this solo
>>12552992It was on Genesis, not the Saturn
>>12552985yes, it was a pain in the ass and not really worth it, the main difficulty later on becomes cheesy sliver of a neighbor onscreen deaths rather than enemies being a threat to you.
>>12552985I've beaten it solo. The trick is to let all your neighbors but one die.
>Why yes, i do reset my games on big rolling text stage.>Beating a game? What's that? I love my games. I don't hurt them.
>>12553073>big rolling text stageYou picked the worst possible game for this meme, since the end credits don't scroll
I made it to the baby. This game was fun as hell
No, I never did. I played the SNES version a lot when it first came out. The giant baby boss always wrecked me.
>>12552985I want to, I really do. But the amount of RNG, and how long this piece of shit is really puts a damper on it.
>>12553156So you only got about 15% through it. At least you're honest
>>12553206>play game for a bit>enjoy>leaveIs having fun a bad thing?
>>12553156this is honestly what I do when I replay once every blue moon, short fun experience before the game starts repeating levels and pounding you up the ass.
>>12552985i only ever beat it with game genie, but man was it still fun as fuck.
>>12552985I came close a few times, but not quite.>>12553021That was the main problem I ran into as well. A lot of neighbor/victim deaths are really hard to prevent if you don't have the maps memorized.
I used to play this with my brother and we could never get past the Snakeoid level. It's hard to hit them and they disappear and reappear in pairs so it wasn't super obvious you were supposed to kill them. Discovering the internet and emulators was like a revolution.Victims turning into werewolves when you approach them is bullshit. I'd love it if someone managed to patch that out. Also prefer the Genesis version over SNES.
>>12552985With save states, yeah. I have no idea what sort of autism is required to beat it in one sitting, cause the level skip codes they give you are worthless
nah i just play it 2player when ppl are around and its fun
>>12552985Absolutely, although as a kid this was a big uphill battle.ZAMN is an action game sure, but it is one of those games where you develop as a player by learning the level layouts, where neighbors and items are, and how to efficiently kill different mobs. This game is loaded with hidden items, and the bonus levels are even more loaded with stuff. Efficient play and a good dose of knowledge will allow you to accumulate an enormous stock of weaponry, 6 lives, and plenty of red potions and health kits if you play your cards right. Knowing where the secret exists and flamethrower are will make it even easier, as they will let you kill Dr. Tongue's first form in levels 36 and 48 without too much trouble. The difficulty of this game is vastly overstated by players who don't take the time to explore, and don't learn to efficiently use their equipment. Hint: If you want an extra boost, try starting with code BCDF
>>12552985i think i managed to get to level 50. it gets hard as fuck later in the game.
>>12554780The game only goes to level 48 though...
>>12553979>Victims turning into werewolves when you approach them is bullshit. I'd love it if someone managed to patch that out.agreed. however, there is apparently a trick to prevent it. if you have the maximum number of enemies on screen loaded in, they cant transform. i dont remember the specific number for that though. >Also prefer the Genesis version over SNES.it is the better version.
>>12554956>it is the better versionwhat improvements override the graphical downgrade and screen shrink?
>>12555041the sega sound enhances the vibe and you have the radar always on. the screen isnt shrunk, its squished. you see the same amount in both versions with no cutoff, sega just makes things skinnier, which honestly looks better given the subject and style. people like to argue for the snes because of the flamethrower weapon, but honestly a secret one-off weapon is pretty gay. its like bragging about playing with game genie. you can argue about the color capability, but i honestly think that the brightness and contrast of the sega version looks better and fits the aesthetic better. the both play identically though.
Ive made it to like level 30 35 before.
>>12555157ok concession accepted.
As far as my childhood brain is concerned the game just generates infinite levels
>>12555190>malding this hardlmao typical tendie ignorance.
>>12555190>>12555157there's a wide hack that makes genesis the superior version
>>12552985It's not a hard game once you understand what weapons are worth picking up and to play it from start to finish without using passwords.
I always get tired of this game around when the Tremors snakes start showing up.
Game's cool but way too long
