How is it still so fucking good? This may be the most aesthetic game ever made.
I'm not writing your video essay for you
>>12553358This is just a heavily pixelated Eva-00.But yes it's kino, I was disappointed with the ninja missions on VR missions
>>12553358He’s like you, he has no name
>>12553358>call me, Deepthroat
>>12553358Shinkawa carried hard. That ninja design is unsurpassed.
>>12553358in mgs the large majority of textures were an original asset, at most the devs might repurpose a real world photo texture for secondary grain or an exception like the mountain rock. not only that but they baked a lot of lighting detail into the textures themselves instead of exclusively using blocky vertex shading. compare mgs to other games of the era, and you see a lot of ripped photo textures put directly in the game and little if any non vertex lighting detail. while the atmosphere became more muted this still held true for mgs2 and mgs3. the reason they mogged a lot of other games is simply having an artist creating textures from scratch, much better for blending assets and making stuff look good at low resolutions.
>>12553358MGS1 on PS1 was so amazing that I even thought MGS2 on PS2 was a letdown in comparison, even back when I was 15. MGS1 is like a symphony where everything comes together just right; story, voice acting, graphics, music, atmosphere, etc. I still can't believe what a huge fumble The Twin Snakes was though, should have been like REmake on GameCube.
>>12553432>not only that but they baked a lot of lighting detail into the textures themselves instead of exclusively using blocky vertex shadingStop pretending this is something special.MGS glazers are mentally ill.
>>12555324MGS is rule of cool done right
>>12555795yes it is special, most games didn't bother with minutely altering textures for their lighting environment just doing a shading pass.
