Whats the point of Kingdom Hearts? was it Disney attempt to win over the Japanese market? or was it Square Enix attempt to get Gajins to like Anime and JRPGs? this game is a strange mix of Eastern and Western elements but they are good games i feel like these games were more focused on women no men liked Disney maybe these games were Disney attempt to promote the Disney parks in Japan can someone explain the Kingdom Hearts phenomenon to me?
>>12554020>was it Disney attempt to win over the Japanese marketLmao you know absolutely nothing about Japan. Japan is absolutely batshit crazy for Disney.
It was literally just a guy from Square and a guy from Disney rode an elevator together and came up with the idea of a crossover between FF and Disney
>>12554041Only the Japanese women like this Kingdom Hearts is for women
>>12554047its a shockingly bad ideaim surprised it outlived that elevator ride
>>12554067no, you're wrong. I live in Japan, Disney is everywhere and everyone likes it.>>12554072>Crossover between two of the largest franchises in all of Japan>Two franchises that generate tons of cash on their own>crossover>bad ideaAre you on drugs?
>>12554020Maybe you should play the game and find out since you obviously don't know anything about Kingdom Hearts.
>>12554020A bit part of it is that they were appealing to girls, which worked. Most millennial women list Kingdom Hearts as one of their favorites. Secondarily, they threw in the FF7 characters to appeal to the existing JRPG nerds, and then they changed up the formula enough to appeal to action and platformer fans. The game on the whole is a bit of a Thriller moment with the wide crossover appeal. They knew what they were doing and pulled it off pretty well desu.
