Why wasn't King's Field PS1 Verdite trilogy popular?

there weren't that many dungeon crawlers on console at that time and the ps1 could barely run them, it would probably have been a more popular series if they had ported them to pc

>>12558251yes the latter part of dark souls takes a huge dip in quality. you still lack the ability to warp for most of the game, the world was designed around that, and it's an added element that makes the entry unique. every fromsoft game after has more in common with demon's souls than dark souls, and this is the case because it's simply easier to follow the demon's souls blueprint for level/world design rather than attempt something like dark souls again.
