Should I play the NES version of Mega Man 1 or the remake?
Powered Up is possibly the best official Mega Man game, so that.
>>12557118Surprisingly the remake is just as hard as the original. The yellow devil at the end is still an absolute bitch to beat.
Both. You’ll appreciate MMPU more after suffering through MM1.
I thought the PSP game was less fun but I've never played it on original hardware.
Why was it brought back?
>>12557118I personally don't like Powered Up at all because it's too easy and cutesy and slow, but it has some interesting features like a bunch of different playable characters. The NES version is the more pure, original experience, and it's the one I'd recommend at least trying first, but if you can nab a version of PU with all the DLC unlocked you'll probably have quite a bit of fun.
>>12557173>I personally don't like Powered Up at all because it's too easyPost your Fire Man clear while playing as Oil Man.
>>12557118do what you want, i don't care anymore
>>12557176I don't have this to hand, but I absolutely did it many years ago. I don't recall it being particularly difficult, but I'm sure it wasn't a patch on the original NES game.
>>12557118The remake is hideous and plays like ass. Do not touch it.
>>12557182On Hard? You must be misremembering. Clearing NES MM1 buster-only without the pause exploit is easier than that and I am not exaggerating.
>>12557179Then leave this FUCKING board and make it better for the rest of us. I hate so many of you.
>>12557179Why so dramatic?
>>12557187>make it better for the rest of usthe only way to make /vr/ better is to ban threads like thisbarring that, send you people back to wherever you came trim
>>12557118NES version without a doubt. Powered Up is the worst abomination in the franchise.
>>12557118They're different enough that there's not much reason to only play one of them. I think Powered Up is the better game, though, and one of the better Mega Man entries in general.
>>12557182>I don't recall it being particularly difficultWho are you trying to fool?
The real answer is this
>>12557118If you plan on playing MM2 after, just play NES MM1. The transition from the remake to NES MM2 would probably ruin that game for you. The remake is basically just to give fans of the original a reason to play it again with a fresh coat of paint but doesn't offer anything substantial to it.
>>12557136>not having the MM1 Yellow Devil pattern memorized by nowthis fucking board I swear
>>12557767They don't use the same pattern. Powered Up also has a smaller arena on top of both sides of the arena being an active hitbox.
>>12557173>too easy and cutesy and slowYou didn't play it.
Friendly reminder if you used any boss weapons you didn't beat the game.
>>12557118Honestly it's down to aesthetics and what you want out of a Mega Man game. Powered Up has a lot more bells and whistles, is generally more balanced besides certain Robot Masters having dogshit for playing the levels, and besides shots not traveling through walls it's internally more consistent with later MM games, even if the unlockable Slide/Charge versions of Mega Man are kinda jank. But it's so radical in its reinterpretation that many people won't vibe with the cutesy style, and unless you're playing on Hard it kinda strips out a lot of the more difficult excesses that some people loved to tackle the original for. There's merits to playing the NES, with or without hacks involved, because it formulated the basis of the franchise where 2 and 3 didn't refine further, but it will kick your dick in if you don't figure out what you're doing; it's somewhere between PU Normal and Hard by default. If you're simply looking to have a more polished game, keep it simple, run Powered Up, but you do miss out on the building block novelty of the NES version. And even Classic Mode in PU doesn't make up for that. Hell, not being able to shoot through walls makes Classic kinda suck to me.
>>12557118Man, I keep forgetting the PSP remakes exist. Probably not a good reason to play them lol. At least Powered Up has a level editor that was supported for a surprisingly longass time which makes it automatically better than Maverick Punter X.
>>12558041Powered Up the only game where this is true since you would lock yourself out of 90% of its content if you used weapons.
>>12557118Powered Up is fantastic and you can just play it in Old Style for a better version of the NES game if you don't want the more extreme changes. But both takes are extremely fun, it's an enormous shame that they never made more Mega Man remakes on the PSP.
>>12557353>suspects she's having a nightmare>doesn't wake her upwtf ran is a bad mom
>>12557118That remake plays like total shit. The input lag is fucking awful.
>>12559330There is no noticeable input lag. Play it on a PSP, not on a Vita, since Vita overall struggles with input latency in PSP games.
>>12559334I played it on PPSSPP.
>>12559225I was always told never wake someone from a nightmare.>>12559335Retard
