They're both great, but I do prefer Zelda 2 slightly

If Nintendo made this game as its own thing (like making it FIRE EMBLEM: ADVENTURE OF MARTH or something) instead of a sequel to Zelda people would consider it a classic up there with Mario 3. By NES standards it's an amazing game, it's only a black sheep as far as Zelda games go.
