>robotnik's diabolical traps
>>12559268when I first played sonic on my Mega-CD i got this exact same screen but it was about the data being unformatted or something.
>corrupts your data>makes you fall through the floor>keeps the geometry from loading>gets you stuck in the wallHow does he keep getting away with it?
>>12559287>gets you stuck in the wallThat was always my biggest worry with real life time travel that is scarily realistic in Sonic CD, if you time travel while going to fast you might end up in a wall that didn't exist in the past but now exists in the present. This could literally happen in the real world if we end up inventing time travel.
>>12559293>inventing time travelthis will never ever happen
>>12559302We once thought games would never go 3D, and then they became 3D.
>>12559313nobody ever said that
>>12559332hi zoom zoom
>>12559293Not realistic enough.>time travel to the future>the space you used to occupy is now occupied by air>your blood and organs are now now full of air bubbles
>>12559293cryosleep is a doable "time travel" into the future and you won't get stuck in a wall randomly, rewinding "time" is impossible however since you'll have to reshape the entire universe to its exact structure at that precise moment.
>>12559268Didn't know "Robotonic" appeared in Japanese this early. Neat I guess.
>>12559293Even if time travel was possible, you would not survive. Lot of people don't realize this but our star system is in constant motion. Including the sun which takes its gravitational pull with it. Even if you were to travel forward or backward exactly 365 days, you'd end up drifting in space upon entry.
>>12559347There were already 3D games in the early 80s, fake boomer. Fuck you.
>>12559437No one has any idea of how to revive a body that entered cryopreservation, even with theorical fantasy technology. Those bodies are completely destroyed at microscopic scale, reviving a beheaded body would probably be easier.
>>12559721That logic is fundamentally flawed once you understand that there's no such a thing as absolute coordinates in the fabric of space. Not only that, but you're also assuming that time travel must be done through a device that jumps in time, but not in space, which is both presumptuous for assuming that this is absolutely how time travel must work, and yet narrow minded for believing that such a godly contraption capable of bending space-time would have such limitation.
>>12559782what the fuck is that supposed to mean
>>12559302Traveling to the future is possible in theory if you were to move at the speed approaching the speed of light, because time will slow down to a halt from your POV.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twin_paradoxTraveling to the past is impossible though. That's why all the time travel stories have shitty paradoxes and plot holes. The past no longer exists, there's nowhere to "travel" to.
>>12559998that doesn't sound like you're actually travelling to the future. you're just going so fast that you're basically getting time cuckedwhy is travelling to the past impossible? aren't there paradoxes and plot holes irl?
>>12559968It means cryosleep is not happening as a form of time travel.
