When do you consider these game actually beaten? Theres no way im doing 100% its just a big grind and alot of the same
>>12560201When do you consider anything beaten? Something I generally don't care for is grinding for higher rankings that don't unlock anything substantial in games with endings. That's something you do for games you come back to.If you don't care for 100%, get the credit rolls and call it a day. https://gran-turismo.fandom.com/wiki/Ending
You don't, that's unreasonable.
>>12560204When i see the credits roll. If its a game I really like ill revisit it later to do side content or grind if needed. Backlog too big
>>12560201When you win the Gran Turismo championship
>>12560201>Theres no way im doing 100% its just a big grind and alot of the sameMove on and leave it incomplete then.Be content with being able to say you played it, but didn't beat it.
When you get the message, hang up the phone.
Ask yourself: Am i enjoying the game or maybe i'm yet not, but this is interesting? If your answer is no, press the power off button. You can always pick that back up later and try new stuff, things don't have to be so set in stone>>12560234please mom, i want to use the internet!!!!!!
I play games to enjoy them. Not to full out imaginary checkbook. I 100% GT3 because I really liked that game. GT4 is fun as well but there's just too much filler to 100% and have fun. Also, those 1 lap battle driving missions are bullshit.
>>12560431I swear this productivityphilliac approach is just a pysop to stop people from playing videogames and force them to sit on their asses watching streamers.
>>12560201Is meeting some arbitrary, constantly changing requirement to say you beat a game the new board meta?
>>12560538streaming market is oversatured and overwhelming gamers with a bag of demands while infusing decision fatigue is the way to bring more cattleOr whatever else schwabbian deus-ex villains are cooking
>>12560562Anon I have read this post multiple times and I cannot for the life of me figure out what the fuck you are trying to convey.
>>12560630my point is: play videogames and stop listening to people who wouldn't even piss on you if you were burning alivereplace videogames with any activity in life and there's your corollary
>>12560201When u beat mission 34
>>12560223This.In my eyes, the best way to have a "standard" when it comes to beating a video game... is simply making the credits roll.
Can't be harder than ridge racer 4>Have to lose races to unlock vehicles
>Credits roll>All missions beaten>All license goldsThat's all you need to say you beat GT4
>any game>credits roll = game is beatenIs not that complicated
>>12561126>punch the title screen 10,000 times>credits roll>game beaten
>>12560201There is a credits option in the menu, just watch that and it counts
>>12560201Trust me here.Obsession with 100% will make you hate video games and will also make you have no desire to replay it in the future. Don't ruin your passion for a particular game or games in general. Also, don't be that retard who does "no continues challenge" or "1 credit deathless run"
>>12560640oh yeah I agree with that, why didnt you just say that
>>12561051Thank you for being the only other poster than myself to acknowledge this game has a glaring fucking flaw because apparently no one has played this game beyond finishing the grand prix 1st a handful of times
>>12560201>i'm too lazy to beat the game so let's make a a bullshit criteria so i can say i did! No. 100% or gtfo.
>>12561396Nobody who plays Ridge Racer cares about car collecting autism. Go back to your gay sims.
>>12561348this is actually a hot take even on reddit btw. Can't imagine how fuming the 1CC crowd will be at reading this lmaoAnyway, this has two components - ego depletion and analysis paralysis. On the first, without a proper cushioning and slow build-up of skills, steep upfront challenges will quickly fatigue anyone's mental state. On the second, overrealiance on checklists do nothing but perpetually place the burden on the future self, which is not on the present. All this happens because being humble is a death sentence in the world of video game discussions, which is evermore elitistic and closed off, with platforms that actively track and compare results, thus generating a "keeping up the joneses" effect. Those who pride themselves on lessening others and belittling for non-compliance to "socially accepted" gameplay practices, fail to understand they themselves are looking at the mirror, belitting themselves.Anyway, enjoy the *git gud* replies and have a good night.
Now here comes the retards that confuse 'just make sure you're having fun' and think it means the same thing as 'don't have ambition because happiness is mediocrity'.
>>12561501So in other words Namco made a game that was terribly designed but I'm supposed to ignore it
>>12561540>this is actually a hot take even on reddit how do you know that?
>>12561605why don't you find out?or better yet, don't. Forget it.Give me two scrambler grenades for 250.
>>12560201They did a bad job with progression in this game. The unlocks for winning piss easy starter races are 750hp cars that you can just steam roll everything. Dumb design choice
>>12561752People complained about GT3 being too grindy and so they overcorrected with GT4. Anyway, you should go for high A-Spec points anyway, the system is there so the player feels embarrassed for using overpowered cars.
>>12561757No. A-spec points are just another system begging to be gamed and abused if it wasn't for the fact that it's made out of opaque guesswork.
>>12561752>steamroll through everythingfound the 1 point warrior>>12561757GT3 progression is fucked, without at least a gold license, you're looking to repeat starter races a lot because none of the cars have enough power. If the started money was bumped slightly to 20k, there'd be a lot more options to pick fromadmittedly, GT3 licenses are very modestly easy to obtain, save for slalom hell in iB and the infamous seattle camaro in iA.
I hate this game mode, getting licenses and earning money to modify cars and unlock championships. I just want to race. However, it's a great game because there are so many different cars and championships. Just choose the ones you like best and race; you don't need to win everything.Racing in the Asian championships (Korea and Japan), DTM, GT, Ice Racing, and Rally would be enough for me.I recently bought a copy of GT4, the Pal Platinum version. The disc looks perfect, but it always freezes at one point. When I get my first driving license, at the sixteenth test, everything freezes and won't save. I've restarted the PS2 dozens of times, but nothing can be done. It always freezes there. The disc is damaged (and luckily, I paid very little).Searching online, I read that there are cheats for getting all the licenses, but my version is missing an option(SPEC MOD II) and it doesn't work. I don't understand why. Maybe there's a difference between the European and American versions? If I could get all the licenses with the cheats, I could skip the damaged section and continue.Otherwise, I'll buy another copy because it's worth it.
>>12561348Spyro is only worth playing if you're at least aiming to 100% it. It's way too easy to beat normally and the best parts are the actually well hidden things.
>>12560201>its just a big grind and alot of the samethat's the entire point of these games, you have to be an NPC europoor to enjoy them.
>>12562053>A-spec points mean absolutely nothingSo why would I purposely gimp myself by using a used shitbox with 100hp instead of a 500hp car i just unlocked in an easy race?
>>12560201Beaten when you get the coolest supercar with max upgrades and beat the hardest races.
>>12562367You didn't get past the children's jouissance developmental phase, so you wouldn't understand.
>>12562405Hardcore gamer moment
>>12562420Actually no, most games i play on normal, i look up guides and rarely go past 100 A-spec points.I just don't sabotage the challenge or optimize the hell out of it.You sure you don't want crush and shred those bundles of straw and use them asfertilizers instead of making useless dolls to spit verbal diarrhea?
>>12560201When you unlock everything for the arcade mode
>>12560201I remember sitting in my basement drinking a shandy while listening to Drake and driving my Subaru WRX through the Italian Alps and having a great time while thinking how dumb it was that you had to pass drivers tests to play this game.I was purely in the moment, all wiggered out. It was over 15 years ago. Please take me back.
>>12560201Beat all licenses, beginner and then professional races and you will see the credits roll. If you dont want to grind credits, just pass 365 days and enter the $10mill cheat and buy the best car and fully upgrade it
