or how to not do a top-down racer on the NES. this game is pants and feels like you're driving through tar. as a final insult it has Euro bathtub gargle music in it.
>>12560350it's Gremlin Graphics slop, go figure
There is a computer-only sequel to Super Cars.
nude sprite hack when?
>>12560350This is just budget shovelware.
It has bridges you can drive on and underCoolest thing about this game actually, I can't even begin to comprehend how they made it, it's really smooth too unlike the usual foreground effect on NES which is quite crap
>>12560430Like I said in the Battle of Olympus thread this one has CHR RAM so the graphics are compressed and it's a bit annoying to modify them.
>>12560350Rad Racer or R.C. Pro Am.Micromachines was probably the only one who could do it. And that toy story stageEven then, it's kinda shitty. Still fun tho.
>win race before your car's fuel/engine/body whatever gauges are depleted>buy stuff or repair your car between racesand that's pretty much it. it's a budget UNROM cart so don't expect anything too sophisticated here.
>>12560619You sure you don't want to add more maggots & feathers to that bait?
>>12560350The first time I looked up a gameplay video of Super Cars I couldn't figure out if it was Japanese or what, then I heard the arpeggio music and was like "guess that answers my question."
Gremlin Graphics also did Nigel Mansell's World Championship Racing (this was a full-up MMC1 cart not a budget UNROM one like Super Cars, although released in late 93 so nobody really played it) and Greg Norman's Golf Power.
>>12560651Super Cars came out first so I half-suspect it was a proof-of-concept thing just to give the programmers some experience with coding a NES racer so they could apply that experience to NMWCR.
>>12560350>went to the trouble of getting Nissan's permission to use their name on the boxkind of surprised for a budget release like this
>>12560704That's why it was a budget release. They spent all the money acquiring the rights to put Nissan's name on the cover. (^:
