>>12563602I like how you can get rid of the boss following you if you get good and manage to shoot at it enough times
>>12563602Counter argument:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l4qUsOC8xUI
>>12563840Don't have to shoot at him, you can dash the bike into him at the top of the screen and get rid of him instantly and it's super easy
>>12565106this, just dash at the fucker and that takes care of him. Doesn't affect the battle against him one bit, which is a bit dissapointing
>>12563602>hey you probably got here with only a few lives and maybe no continues left>so just keep running in circles for a while trying to map things out through trial and error including some bullshit platforming and infinitely respawning enemies>worst case scenario is you die while trying to find the exit and just have to start the entire incredibly difficult game over again no big deal>also if you do actually do reach the final boss he sucks and comes with a time limit if you want the good ending
Fuck the air shoes part.>>12563602That's a fun level though, possibly the only fun bike level in the series.
>>12563602I know X5/6 are bad but this level is like 15 seconds long it's not that hard
Song was too good for me to hate this stage>JET>STINGRAY
>>12566026Revenge is the sort of game which is hard at first, but once once you've learnt it, you'll have no trouble going back to where you were. Also there is a way to stop the 'time limit' in the final boss.
>>12563631I liked it. It's jarring and bizarre and arguably inappropriate, but in a game with infinite continues it's a perfectly feasible and potentially fun challenge. The design is still awkward and if I were making that game today I certainly wouldn't make the choices they made, but it doesn't actually damage the game experience significantly (even on a first playthrough) if the player is skilled.
>>12563602>Dogshit4chan illiterates need to learn another synonym for "bad". At least pick a different animal once in a while you goddamn conformists.
>>12566026You forgot to mention mijin doesn’t pause the timer like it usually does
>>12563602Stage 5 in Gradius with the tentacle meatball asteroid things. It's not a bad level, it's OK. It's just like the devs were lazy and didn't feel like making a real level. Then the zako rush is just the same as the rest of the stage. That was just weird.
I play gen 1 Pokemon a lot, trading in level 5 mons I bred in Crystal at the beginning of the game so I can play through the whole thing with stuff you can't get until much later. Pretty fun, keeps the game fresh and interesting every time. Every time I get to rock tunnel though I contemplate quitting. It's probably not so bad if you're just playing the game once, but on your 63rd run of the year it just gets obnoxious. It's not even the maze itself or going through it in the dark thats the problem, there's just so many fucking trainer battles back to back to back ontop of it being a cave with random spawns on every tile. It's a real slog to get through.
>>12566652You must have played the version with checkpoints. A 6 minute on-rails crush level that you have to memorize perfectly and repeat in full when you lose to the final boss, which can kill you in seconds, is some watery bullshit. The lead designer even apologized for the difficulty years later.
>>12566026Devs in the mid to late 80s had a real boner for putting a mazelike level at the end of a linear game. Even Super Mario Bros did it.
