>see I have san andreas installed>boot it up for the first time in years>load up the most recent save file>8 years ago>damn, time flies fast>save file very early in the game>do a few missions>have a gay old time>suddenly "wrong side of the tracks">aww sheet, here we go again>pass it with no problem on my first try>all I had to do was follow the damn trainThis OG Grove Street cat still got it, nigga.Seriously, why do people think this mission is hard again? I don't remember this one being frustrating even when I was a kid.
>>12564037There's not a single hard mission in this game, we were just kids fighting to get used to the controls in every scenario where we needed to use more than one brain cell.
Because if Big Smoke is too close to the train, he shoots the train instead of the Vagos. It's not really intuitive to drive the bike along the opposite train track where Smoke is actually able to hit the targets.
>>12564041>we were just kidsspeak for yourself, zoom zoom
>>12564047>Finding the game hard as a full-blown adultNGMI
>>12564050It was hard when I first played it. The PS2 version plays and controls like dogshit.
>>12564037we had no concept of "oh it's clear the trigger for the hitbox to kill the enemies is only by riding directly parallel to them because my bullets aren't registering when i shoot them from another location" we were having fun
>>12564043>It's not really intuitive to drive the bike along the opposite train track where Smoke is actually able to hit the targets. The fact that Smoke can't hit the enemies if he doesn't have a clear line of sight is pretty fucking intuitive, if you ask me. People have been giving Smoke shit for decades now, but his aim is absolutely on point. Even DSP was able to ace this mission on his first try.
>>12564071Not when there are three scripted trains coming at you along the train track that has Smoke's only clear line-of-fire.
>>12564037I didn't even know what the meme was about when I first saw it online since it only took me a few tries on my first play through, and I didn't get it until I saw the jpg version with Smoke. It's disturbing how many absolute plebeians are out there trying to play vidya above their pay grade.
>>12564073Those are so easy to dodge, though.
>>12564043I mean it's pretty intuitive he would have harder time if you are too close to the train... that said yeah, the game doesn't communicate that well if you are hitting the targets or not at the very mission. Even if you are at the correct range, Smoke still misses a lot and so on.
I'm trying to think about the actual missions that feel hard are some (gladly) optional side missions. In Zero missions on ps2 it's hard to aim in the very first mission and you just fail miserably hitting the flying targets. Then there's one of the casino heist missions where you are supposed to land the parachute on some skyscraper and I can't recall if the mission just fails if you miss.
>>12564121It doesn't fail you, it just makes getting rid of the cops a lot harder
there's few missions that rely on using a bike and if you have poor skill in it (both yourself and the in-game skill) then it's very easy to fall off. this mission throws a lot of obstacles at you really can't get hit by any of them
>>12564125Yeah that must have been it.>>12564129What others than the air strip one where you have to board the plane but gladly if you miss then just try again immediately
>>12564135>What others than the air strip one where you have to board the plane but gladly if you miss then just try again immediatelyfirst mission in the game
>>12564037It's more the tedium of having to go back and restart the mission from far away then drive all the way back. It's just a funny line too, smoke and Ryder had a bunch of them.>>12564129Yeah it's hard to catch up and it's tedious because it drops you in the boonies when you fail, have to drive all the way back, drive back to the train. The sanchez is kind of unwieldy especially with a low bike skill, even if you played vc there's not really anywhere with that kind of terrain in that game. Then you have to keep looking to the side so you can easily crash if you're not familiar with the route. I think that's your 1st motorbike mission too.
>>12564148That's a bicycle and you don't even need it, you can steal a car or even run all the way back to Grove street. The bikes just there to show the game has bikes.
>>12564148Okay I somehow immediately thought motor bike but yeah.
>>12564041This. Even Zero's missions, I've been beating them on the first try with no sweat. The only hard ps2 GTA is III.
>>12564289And yeah, I played it on an actual ps2, so no mouse aim
>>12564129Yeah, that one mission where you have to chase down Loc's rapist on bike was always much harder for me than Wrong Side Of The Tracks, which I wasn't even aware that many people really struggled with.
