How do I git gud? Also why are the passwords not working?
If you're trying to use passwords from something you saw in a screenshot don't touch the blank characters, just leave them alone. If demons are dead in your inventory when your load a password, they will be erased from memory. This can be useful as it is the only other way to erase demons from your party besides fusion.Dryad is the key to all this. Also I really would not recommend playing the english translation as it is very glitchy.
>>12566424The game doesn't have much in the way of strategy since there are so few spells so it's all grind and experiment with fusion. One thing you CAN do is learn which enemies are weak to which status effect spell like sleep or close. The other status effect spells only hit 1 enemy at once so I'm not sure they're worth bothering with.>>12566501I stumbled on two main glitches myself in the translation: there is an optional boss which can't be fought and crashes, I think that was the one below Valhalla corridor (come to think of it I think they got rid of that whole area and boss in Kyuuyaku as well so I never ended up fighting him); and in the end game there is that skull enemy which does an attack which was GUARANTEED to crash the gamebut then looking at my screenshots I also stumbled on another glitch at random when a Behemoth spawned in the Sea of Flamesanyway it's 'playable' except from that one optional boss but use savestates backups and always flee from that one enemy in the late gameWhen I played the translation it was around the same time as they were working on the translation of 2 so I messaged them about the glitches in 1 and they said they had no intention to go back to fix them. This sort of "We're professionals, we consider things done and move on to next thing" attitude some translation groups have kinda piss me off. Professionals act like this for budget reasons, going back to fix glitches when they've been identified shouldn't take that long. Maybe I should do it myself.
Also don't underestimate the Luck stat for the protag. I had a much easier time with the game once I started increasing the stat. This is true for every game in the series that I've played (up until Soul Hackers)
>>12566617Wasn't it also necessary in SH? I remember realizing lck was important with that game
>>12566604>and in the end game there is that skull enemy which does an attack which was GUARANTEED to crash the gameI played MT1 last year and I didn't have this happen, I used the 1.0 version of the translation. I did still get random crashes, though.
>>12566604It just may not be feasibly possible to add a translation to this without it causing new errors without being present at the development level. The game isn't that hard to understand even if you can't read it - This game is surprisingly kid friendly, the expensive thing is usually the best thing and you can't hold any other equipment except one which you sell immediately after buying the new one. The only exception is the sacred weapons which you can accidentally sell if you buy something while you already have them, and I didn't know about the the Hinokagutsuchi or white gem first time playing and I still beat it. I think Lucifer ran out of MP and he can't heal himself anymore when that happens.
>>12566641And I guess also Rag's items which you may be able to figure out with trial and error and Izanami which is also optional
>>12566637I used v1.0 too, playing in Mesen if it makes a differencethe enemy in question is Loa, gif related. One of his attacks is pretty much guaranteed to crash the game but there is no guarantee he'll use this attack. This enemy needs to be avoided preferably anyway since he has an attack which can reduce your lvl, although Yumiko should have a spell to counter that
>>12566694>This enemy needs to be avoided preferably anyway since he has an attack which can reduce your lvlI think the level reducing attack might actually be what is crashing the game for you.
>>12566694>>12566747Also I just checked what emulator I used, it was the FCEUmm core on Retroarch.
>>12566424>How do I git gud?As long as you are mapping the game even if you get wiped by a team of succubus you will still be making progress. The game is hard but as long as you are methodical and keep your team up to date you will be fine. The only tip I can think of is just use Cerberus the whole game, his drain is so small he is just very efficient to keep with you until the end. I cant give you any english translation pointers I played the game in Japanese
>>12566751What? Cerberus is lvl 10 in this game. Also if you lose him you can easily get another way by going back to the lower floors of Daedalus. He makes for a great fusion monster though
>>12566816The level of a demon is just the minimum level you need to recruit or fuse it. It has very little relation to its actual capabilities in combat.
>>12566816>What? Cerberus is lvl 10 in this game. His stats are insanely inflated for his level and his drain is .1 per step which basically makes him free to have on your team. Throughout the dungeons he'll go from your best monster to your worst but managing your mag is very important.
>>12567261>>12566834Personally I thought he was falling behind by the 3rd area already
