I think everyone has at least one game that maybe is not that popular or maybe even not that good, but still is dearest to you. Post them.
Here's Black Moon Chronicles, admittedly rather average Total War-like rts with amazing soundtrack and atmosphere.

It was the one game from that era that did shitty midi but did it right.

Fatal Labyrinth (Genesis). It was the first console roguelike but I didn't even know what that was and only bought it because it looked like a Phantasy Star style RPG based on the screenshots. Little did I know. But I played it enough that it became one of my favorite games despite its limitations.

Requiem: Avenging Angel, one of many shooter of the late 90's although a pretty cool one. A big arsenal of angelic powers alongside guns is for sure something that make it stands out among other fps but I also really dig the futuristic dystopian look.

Looks very cool. Usually I don't care about roguelikes but if I'd want to get into the genre I think I'd rather pick this game than the original Rouge. Also I've glimpsed at the gameplay and I've noticed that one of the enemies are robots. Man, it was quite popular to mix sci-fi elements with fantasy in these times, wasn't it?

Descent is my all time favorite game. I would say that it qualifies as obscure since I am the only one I know who has ever enjoyed it. Some people can't even handle watching me play it without getting sick lol. I never really see it discussed online much either. Besides a small group of hardcore fans that are still around. Fun as shit and incredibly immersive for a 30 year old game.

When it came out it was pretty far ahead of it's time to, with the 6DoF movement and what not.

Apparently Spain and Italy got a bunch expansion for this game. Must have been popular there. Amusingly the devs themselves are Bulgarians.

Likely it would never have mainstream appeal, but I think it's a shame 3D movement shooter didn't become its own niche genre.
