Haven't played TA in nearly 2 decades, but I remember Core having better lasers, with Arm having better projectile weapons. Core's battlecruiser had a heavy gatling laser, which gave it decent AA protection, but Arm's version had two triple turrets (instead of one), making it considerably better for long-range bombardment.

I played TA half a year ago and it blew my dick that something so advanced came out before Starcraft. The resource and basebuilding system is still one of the best I've seen in a classic RTS
