Why would anyone bother with this when SoR2 exists? It's so fucking stiff, slow and dull.
>>12572053>to complete a game you probably started but never finished in the arcade>for the superior spritework and backgrounds >for cool chracters like Wong Who>for the sake of variety because even if you believe one game is better than the other you can play both, neither is very long>
I hate genre tourists who think there's no reason for more than one game to exist in each genre (except his favorite, then he needs 500 games)
>>12572053If you think Final Fight is stiff, slow, and dull you should check out the arcade version of Double Dragon 1, Dynamite Dux, and Sengoku 1.
I could never get into Final Fight. It's excessively punishing which severely harms player expression and incentivizes the cheapest, most tedious tactics. Give me even Street of Rage 1 over it
>>12572365Lower the difficulty then.
>>12572348>Double Dragon 1Unironically a better game than Final Fight 1 if I had to be honest, chief.
>>12572370The arcade version? I don't think so.
>>12572390Arcade version, yes. I like that the game has actual environments as opposed to flat 2D planes you can't interact with.
>>12572368Doesn't count
>>12572053I'm gonna assume you mean the arcade version, cause the SNES port is an inferior version of itself. It would be a better argument to say SoR2 is better than FF2 and FF3, which were developed for console like SoR was, and which it is. >>12572365Every Capcom beat'em up has most of the cheap shit in Final Fight like ranged enemies running onto both sides of the screen and bombing you. Honestly, and I fall for the same thing, if you don't remember when that happens after the 1st time, it's really your fault isn't it? You know it's going to happen, you probably played many games even not by Capcom that do the same thing, and you didn't learn how to deal with it.
>>12572406Not him but Final Fight 1 arcade sucks ass. I like the amount of enemies on screen but I don't like that there's no way to deal with them other than autistic memorization
>>12572365All of Capcom's beat em ups are like that. They're almost brilliant and inspired many better games, but their nature as bullshit arcade games make them severely unfun to play.
>>12572365>Give me even Street of Rage 1 over itSoR was originally a home console game, so yeah, the difficulty will tend to be dramatically easier than arcade games, and still significantly easier than even moderately faithful ports of arcade games
>>12576807holy shit hugo is dead
