My 65" TV which I loved broke down and I am forced to use my much smaller older TV for a while.

At first I hated it. It's much less "bright" and you can see less details. For modern games it sucks.

But I also noticed something else. It's weirdly comfy especially during the night. Less size and brightness means the rest of the room is much darker than usual which is more comfy. It requires less concentration to see everything at once. I would even say it is better suited for old retro games and old anime than a big TV.

Size isn't always the best decision.

Btw, that is not me, it's just a picture I found.

what retro game is that?
>>

Not buying dogshit LCDs ever again. Never playing retro games on flat panels. PERIOD. No matter how many aftermarket products get shilled for that purpose.

how's the input lag?

I hate playing on my monitor because it's too big. I like my 55" TV as it's way more comfy. Just upgraded to a 65" so we'll see how that is

This, but with small CRT's. There is nothing more comfy than having my mattress on the floor, with a 13 inch little CRT right next to it, huddled up around it in the dark with just the screen glowing, and then gayming/watching VHS tapes until I fall asleep right there. Peak comfy bedtime ritual. Small CRT's are also superior because they weigh nothing, so it invalidates the complaints about size and weight.

The feeling when everything is pitch black and you see only the screen is peak comfy. I can't describe it, it just is.

I've got a fiddy inch in the basement, but I don't have the room to pull my couch back enough for optimal viewing, so FPS games can be a pain in the neck. I've thought about downgrading and this is what I've found:

32-inch 1080p TVs are around $150, and 720p TVs are around $99 now. 720p displays, while being archaic these days, produce a cleaner 720p image than a 1080p display. If I switched to 720p gaming, my hardware would last a lot longer, and the image on the TV wouldn't look that much worse. I'm seriously considering making the switch.

Get a gaming monitor at that point. Less input lag, no typical Smart UI or post-processing bullshit and they're one of the few PC components coming down in price right now.

I have not noticed anything at all, its a gaming projector that i bought on special during black friday. Look uo BenQ. Frankly i can't go back to screens after this, its just so much nicer.
