Despite the name this isn't a racing game but a bad pinball sim. Go play Rare's other pinball game Pinbot instead.

imo they didn't really nail "simulation" pinball until 3d Ultra Pinball (play Timeshock ASAP if you haven't). for 80s/early 90s you're better off with "fantasy pinball" fare like Devil's Crush and Revenge of the Gator. Pinbot for NES is pretty visually impressive imo but it doesn't hold a candle to playing Pinbot in Pinball Arcade (2012).
