VII and VIII are my favorite games to this day (grew up Nintendo only til the PS2). So, I guess.I never saw any of the marketing, someone showed me IX on their PSX in 01-02 and I found out about VII after looking IX up.

And the simplistic overworld models, make the light-hearted comedy more dismissable.(Imagine Tidus' laugh with a model like that and no voice acting.)If they made a version of 6 that looked like FF9, PS1 feeling graphics. Maybe that could be interesting.

At the time, FF7's visuals were breathtaking and the game has very cinematic sequences that play out like a movie. Squaresoft was a trailblazer, making FF7 the first "modern JRPG." I could gush on and on about how I love the mystique of the game and how the soundtrack is still my favorite video game soundtrack, but I know you don't want to hear about that.FF7 does have a big problem that holds it back from being the best game ever. Because of the pre-rendered backgrounds, the entire game has to be planned out and designed deliberately. In FF1-to-FF6, if a map designer wanted to make a dungeon bigger they could just add that many more map tiles for you to traverse. They didn't have that flexibility in FF7.

You get to the norther crater soon after she dies, all the clones die off, and you resurrect the real Sephoroth, who was trapped in a mako crystal after being spat out by the lifestream where Cloud had spent him (before the game begins, there's a flashback of this later in the game) into the lifestream from the Nibel reactor.That's one of the key parts of the story. Eventually Cloud gets to finally kill Sephy for realsies at the game's end.

And it feels sooo good to see Sephiroth die and the potential for humanity to have gone extinct at the end.
