For me, I "enjoyed" building a "town" or "city" most in these "strategy games"
>>12579476And I enjoyed 7pooling your settlers ass
>>12579485What does that mean?
>>12579485And I enjoyed 7pooling your moms ass
Me too. When the enemy was essentially defeated I'd leave a few of their structures standing and expand my base throughout the entire map.
>>12579476Then you should play an actual city builder
>>12579985But there are no external threats.
>>12579476same. since the first strategy game I played, that has been my motivationwhich is, of course, stupid. that's not the point of these gamesand it's why I love and hate the genre, and I haven't touched one of these since, I don't know, maybe empire earth
>>12579996All the Impressions Games (Caesar III/Pharaoh/Emperor) city builders have external threats. If you just like building an impregnable fortress, play Stronghold.
>>12579985one man's scenario editor is another man's city builder.
I agree OP, I've always been like that too, since I was kid. Still am, in a way. It's just neat :)
Startopia and Dungeon Keeper might be of interest to you
>>12580021Based and basepilled
>>12579476same desu, always set the AI to 'very easy' and built towns in AOE2 and AOM. Very comfy.
>>12579476For me it was researching everything available and building an army up until the pop cap before steamrolling the map. It was such a wake-up call the first time I went multiplayer and found out not even the computer wanted me to do comfy tech researching.
>>12579996>But there are no external threats.SimCity has plenty of external threats.
>>12579996Settlers and Anno have them
>>12579476Adding realtime elements to a genre is just a way to get "ADHD" type people interest. The kind of people who fear silence. It makes the particular genre a new thing.
>>12579996Like that other anon said, you need to try Stronghold
>>12579476The Pharoah series were better town builders.
>>12579830Zergling rush with my drones
I liked using zerg and spreading creep everywhere
Tiberian Sun gave you a lot of options to build a comfy little base with fences and gates and stuff.
There's money to be made combining a tower defense/base building, with The Sims. protecting yourself from burglars and raccoons and zombies (sims 3)
>>12579485One of my friends completely outclassed me at RTS games and eventually we came up with a gamemode we mostly used in Company of Heroes and Age of Empires 2 where we would both get 10 minutes to prep, I would build a fortress around my base and lay defenses everywhere, and he would get 10 minutes to besiege it. If he destroyed my HQ by the end of the timer he won. We would adjust the times as needed if rounds were complete blowouts. It was a lot of fun and gave me a chance to win games without being on adderall or korean.
>>12580929Well, you're not wrong.
>>12580996>little partyI hope it's not something illegal
>>12579476that's all i ever do in aoe2
>>12579476Same I loved building walls around my base in RA2 and CnC. I was too stupid to even realize I could make more than one lol
>>12579476That's like, the girl's way of playing those games>Noooo you can't attack me I'm building my city!!!As always OP is a fag
>>12581260I used to make custom rules.ini files for RA2 so I could spawn driveable cars and stuff and park them around my base, make spawnable derricks and metal fences and stuff, made it so nighthawks could carry vehicles like chinooks; etc. Comfy af
