Is it just me or is there a steep difficulty spike here? I can make it through the first few levels without taking like any damage, then I make it to Aquas and lose all my lives. I think because they take away locked on charge shots and give infinite missiles they decide to just spam enemies that jump your bones.

Just spam infinite missiles.
As a kid I didn't even realize I had infinite missiles and I was still able to get through it, get good.
