This is one of the most modded games ever, with mods still coming out in 2026. What are the best most recent ones in the last few years? Anything essential?
Only Doom, Super Mario World, and the Elder Scrolls games can really compare.
>>12581156There are some that restore cut content, some that fix effects that were on PS2 and just flat out add new missions/gameplay features. The only absolutely mandatory ones IMO are the ones that restore the music that has been patched out.
>>12581156Looking forward for the ongoing Project Eagle.Hoping for a 2027 release.
>>12581168An American Truck Simulator mod on top of this would be giga fun.
Guy is going through every single cutscene and making fixes. Often changes so subtle you'd never notice. The game was a bit rushed, and it seems rockstar left in errors, often for background objects and characters during cutscenes so most people won't even notice:https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLjCd4HiNMh9ldHsFI4199zLm_AAkJmFGY
This game is impossible to run on modern PCs. How do you guys do it?
>>12581295turn on directplay legacy components and/or install old vcredstsnot sure if there's anything else
>>12581295Look up SilentPatch, it's a mod that fixes all the compability issues and makes the game run smoothly on modern systems.
>>12581295>open steam>go to library>scroll down to grand theft auto san andreas and click on it>click "Play"
>>12581156The snow mod that turns it into a winter wonderland :3
The game's pretty easy to mod. We could have had a new GTA game's worth of content at this point, including new missions, or total conversion mods on par with the handheld GTA games. Too bad the only people that mod this game are 80 IQ brazilians so none of that ever came to fruition.
>>12582141You should thank your brazillian overlords, rather than mock them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zzLNgztzR0ghttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aNKlsoM6A98
>>12581168WHAO>>12582430These mods look fucking gay. I'd rather have SA Stories
Did they ever finish the recompile they were making?
>>12582701That's the one that Take-Two shut down so they could release their Jeet-master. The project finished III and VC, but didn't make much progress with SA before it was killed. There's a new project here:https://github.com/gta-reversed/gta-reversed
>>12582141No, the reason is once something like 100k people download a mod or are heavily interested, R* is forced to defend the ip and shut it down. This has happened dozens of times so that's the reason people eventually lose interest to spend 10 000 man hours per person on some project. Not even saying R* is wrong here by any means because there's a point where these things could potentially damage their sales. They are still wishing to remake and rerelease some of the older stuff every now and then, even if very poorly.
