The racing physics aren’t satisfying (drifting sucks, can bump into rivals but not traffic) and there’s too much loading in the crash stages for how much trial and error is involved. The environments are very generic also. Is it just one of those you had to be there kinds of things?
>>12582920Nah, you just have abysmal taste. Not just in video games, but in life itself.
>drifting sucks git gud>can bump into rivals but not trafficwouldn't be much of a game if there were less ways to lose >crash trial and errorit shows you the layout before each stage, you can strategise and clear most in 4-5 tries tops, maybe stop being such an ADHD ridden zoomoid and don't spam the x button through things that are supposed to help you>environments are very genericonly true for the early USA stages, europe and far east are very varied in their track design
>>12582949>only true for the early USA stages, europe and far east are very varied in their track designThey continuously recycle backgrounds, buildings and landmarks between tracks lol. No coherency to several of the tracks either, even AI could do a better job. So cute whenever western insects are in denial because someone rightfully shit on their childhood game which is mogged by vastly superior Japanese games.
>>12583017what japanese game is like burnout?
Burnout is overratedI beat many racing game of the golden era: Gran Turismo 4, Midnight Club 3, NFSU 1 and 2, NFS MW, NFS Carbon, Outrun2006, Juiced... even low tier ones like R Racing Evolution. But I never had the desire to beat Burnout 3 or 4.
>>12582920>can bump into rivals but not trafficYou can ram non-oncoming traffic in Burnout Revenge, you might want to try that one.>>12583023>what japanese game is like burnout?Thrill Drive inspired Burnout 1.

>>12583017Ah I see, you're not interested in actual discussion and just wanted to drag your autistic console war into it. Your concession has been accepted.
>>12583049>Thrill DriveShit looks downright primitive. It might have been the "first" game like Burnout, but at least the Burnout devs had years to perfect the formula. Burnout 1 and 2 aren't even remotely like Burnout 3.If you want to talk about "vastly superior Japanese games" then you really can't argue in good faith that the nips have executed this style of gameplay better lmao. You just have a weird affinity for them because you jerk off to hentai.
>>12582920Ive always hated "snappy" arcadey driving. GTA IV has the best driving physics in any game. No you can't change my mind, no I wont read your replies
>>12584487I wasn't the one who mentioned "vastly superior Japanese games", I just saw the "what japanese game is like burnout?" question and I decided to answer it.

Protip: I recently played this game and I 100% all the races and crash mode and I learned that this is one of the few games that used the PS2 sensitive pressure buttons. If you press X really hard then you can accelerate faster, but I'm not sure if it actually helps you reach a higher top speed. I had to change the pressure modifier settings in PCSX2 so that I could get faster times, but it's not really necessary. It is interesting to note that if you wanted to complete for world records you would need to have pressure sensitive buttons. Another reason why the best controller ever made is the PS3 controller. The only wireless controller that has pressure sensitivity on all buttons except start, select, and the PS button. Change my mind.
>>12584724I played for a bit and did not notice pressure on buttons making much difference. It's not mentioned in the manual or game itself, either. The interweb says it's also in Burnout 2 but I played that on gamecube and the acceleration is on the face buttons. If the pressure was so important wouldn't it make sense to put the accel on the trigger? Seems like it doesn't even matter.
>>12584775>It's not mentioned in the manual or game itself, either. It's literally right on the back it says "Pressure Sensitive" in red outline.>Seems like it doesn't even matter. It absolutely matters especially in a game where going fast is the goal. I was trying to optimize a certain race to see how fast I could do it and that's when I discovered that I could enter the first turn slightly faster if I enabled pressure sensitive buttons on X. I don't know what to tell you except that GameCube only had pressure sensitivity on its triggers.
>>12582920>The racing physics aren’t satisfyingThey're extremely satisfying, it's one of the highlights of the game.>(drifting sucks, can bump into rivals but not traffic)That's the fucking point of the game, you blithering fucktard. Go screech for attention somewhere else.
It's literally the most satisfying racing physics, fuck simfaggots
>>12584493 I like both when they're being honest. Burnout 3 and gta 4 have the best driving feel to me for their respective goals. You don't have to like one ovee the other as they aren't trying to be the same thing
>>12584832it's like; bo3 is not even trying to be realistic, it's supposed to feel fast and keep you worried about crashing while also encouraging almost crashing (boost). it's an arcade thrill ride.gta4 on the other hand has satisfying driving for an entirely different reason, that's it's far more realistic so driving fast in that game is actually not easy, making it quite satisfying to do well
>>12584724I play with a hyperkin duke and set brake and accelerator to the analog triggers, works a charmthough playing a ps2 game with an xbox controller has to be some kind of sacrelige
>>12584493>GTA IV has the best driving physics in any gameWorst opinion I ever read on this site. I truly hope you are driven to suicide. Seriously you need to kill yourself.
Uh oh stinky
>>12584883sounds like a skill issue
>>12584724>pressure sensitivity on all buttons except start, select, and the PS button.ackshually L3 and R3 also aren't pressure sensitive, on both PS2 and PS3. everything else is though, even the d-pad
>>12583040Don’t forget Wipeout, Twisted Metal Black, Ridge Racer, Crash Nitro Kart, Virtua Racing Flatout, all much better arcade racers which thoroughly mog this EAslop
