I've been playing through a lot of the classic FF games recently and one that looks promising but I see a lot of negative reception towards is Mystic Quest, how come? I'm planning on getting a play through started later today or tomorrow so I’m curious how it'll pan out.
>>12636707play a real game, pussy pigger
>>12636729You mad, bro?
>>12636731I'M FUCKING PISSED AS FUCK ARRRTGGGGGGGHHHHH
>>12636707Nice soundtrack, too much combat. They probably thought making a JRPG that's nothing but fights, fights, and more fights with very little story would please Americans.
>>12636707It's kinda fun but very simple. Good music and some neat ideas like tools outside of battle and enemies visibly changing when damaged.Worth trying.
>>12636707It's much more simplistic than the other Final Fantasys but that was the point apparently. They tweaked the formula in an attempt to make it more kid and western friendly. As long as you keep that in mind it can be fun for what it is.
>>12636813>>12636789Simplistic sounds like something I'd enjoy in a sea of a lot of games I've been playing recently being quite hard and more complex, sometimes you just need to pad that out with a nice and easy game.
>>12636834I agree, sometimes I just want something basic and easy to relax with.
might be worth playing thru once but its a bit too basic and repetitive for me to really want to play it again.
>>12636834what were you playing
>>12636707It's got a nothing story with nothing characters and is very repetitive. The graphics look primitive compared to what American JRPG fans had already seen on the SNES. Enemies look like dumb cartoons. FF1 honestly had better graphics overall. But yeah like everybody is saying it's still basically a fun enough game. It works fine, the music is cool, it's fine.
