Some parts are hard, some parts are easy, and you can end up getting weapons early that make the game pretty easy, and by the end of the game there really isn't anymore challenge even if you didn't get the overpowered items. That's the biggest complaint, but pretty much everything else about the game is 10/10.

Great music and style, a lot of content and the best story in a castlevania game. No challenge, uninspired "levels" and the "RPG" system was a mistake. It's a good game, but kinda forgettable, if you want the music and style but with a good gameplay you can always go back to the 8 & 16bit games, and if you want the kind of gameplay this game is going for but done well go for metroid. What I want to say is, enjoy, it's a classic for a reason, even if it's overrated.

my only big problem with the game is weapon-specific moves. you're never told they exist in-game or the manual. i guess you're just expected to mash buttons until something special happens
