I played 1 on Famicom and 2 and 3 on NES
I loved all 3 of them, 3 is obviously the most mind blowing but a lot of the things that make 3 great actually started with 2, the overworld exploration and the sailing, among other things.
1 is such a tightly designed game though

3 is good but saddly is extremely overrated and the biggest reason posers praise 3 is that you can create your own party and the job system and although 9 does that much better but redditors and youtubers only jerk off 3, it's also related to weebs being faggots worshipping Japan they heard 3 was Le cultural phenomenon and a fan favorite in Japan therefore they decided it's the favorite too (most of them never played it)

I agree, but graphics and presentation are still part of the experience, if you gave 8's graphics and production value to any game from 3 to 7 it would be easily be outclassed by it, but the case remains it's still the best looking retro DQ with a pretty 3d world.

So what's your idea for the best game? Barebones 1? Slog endgame grind 2? I hope I'll never have to replay these chapters 4? 20 hours of 6 abilities and 3 characters 7? The only respectable choice left is 6 and yeah that one is all right. I don't get the hate it gets sometimes.
