>Famicom Detective Club Part 1
>Touhouken Bunroku (The Travels of Marco Polo)
>Square's Tom Sawyer
Are there any others you'd like to see?
>>
Hokkaido Rensa Satsujin: Ohotsuku ni Kiyu
Hokuto no Ken: Violence Gekiga Adventure
Shin Onigashima (surprising, you would think having references in Smash Bros would pique someone's interest)

Vertical text, you'd have to rewrite the whole dialog system. That's my guess.

Yeah but I hate that this often leads to the originals not being translated. Same with Romancing Sa-Ga 2 and 3. I don't always hate remakes but, as a rule, I would almost always prefer to play the original first.

I don't care faggot. Not retro >>>/v/ >>>/trash/ >>>/lgbt/ I want to play the famicom versions
>>
Time Twist just got a patch but it was broken and AI slop in the worst sense. The game isn't fully playable translated yet.
>>
I've translated the text for Square no Tom Sawyer recently, so hopefully it'll get inserted by the other guy soon.

Hanjuku Hero, the other untranslated Squaresoft Famicom game, started a series

Famicom Jump 2, sequel to the million seller. By Chunsoft, with the collaboration of many famous artists and Famicom RPG devs. One of the two Famicom RPGs still untranslated that's actually great. Probably use the same text compression method as DQ4.

Monster Maker, the other still untranslated Famicom RPG that's actually great. Started a series

Momotarou Densetsu Gaiden.
In theory one should translate 2 on PC-E first; and even then should probably translate the PC-E version of this one too; but this is here too just in case. I wouldn't call this 'great' like the two above because it's just a DQ clone, but it's a great DQ clone.

Also someone should finish the translation of Dragon Wars that was leaked. It's a great port of a great game, the translation is about 90% done, I noted one place where the game can crash (the dragon den at the end), and the automap doesn't work in every emulator with the prototype translation for some reasons (but does with the JPN version).
Maybe I'll do this myself one day though don't count this as a "dibs"

also SD Gundam Gaiden - Knight Gundam Monogatari 2 and 3

>Same with Romancing Sa-Ga 2 and 3.
Bad example, the SaGa originals are unfinished, buggy, and their remakes are for one made with close involvement by the original developer and use the exact same art and assets but with tons of new content. They're close enough the scripts could be ported, but no one does because the original really is obsolete. (RS2 was at first infanous for how Square Enix fixed the SNES rom and added new content for the virtual console but made it paid DLC, fortunately they renounced their ways)

Romancing SaGa 1 did get a fan translation (on SNES not the slightly enhanced WSC version) and the game is so buggy the translation team had to fix some of its bugs as part of the job needed to finish their patch without crashes.

Time Twist, Shin Onigashima, both Famicom Detective games, Saiyuuki... that entire lineup of VNs by Nintendo has an emulator lua script with human translations of the entire thing, as long as you never change the default names.

>Maybe I'll do this myself one day though don't count this as a "dibs"
No one should care about dibs, it should be normal for two people to work on the same game translation, especially in this day and age where the more you hear about it the more troubles it begets

3 has a patch that is everything but a few battle messages translated on the SNES version
>>
>>12797502
I'm not even interested in it for the racism I just think it looks like it has a really cool battle system and expressive sprites
>>
>>12798365
I've played it and it's a disappointing game. It's more an adventure game which also happens to have (not so good) RPG battles in it. The late game has varied visuals but until then you'll find a LOT of copy pasted visuals. Some puzzles are a bit shitty but for the wrong reasons, like this building in the city which has 2 different entrances next to each other but it's barely noticeable so you're bound to get stuck because you missed the second entrance.
The entire goal of the game is to gather a certain number of key items, in various ways; but then there is also this guy who can give them to you for free and seemingly infinitely, so you could skip most of the game that way, whatever is up with that.
