This isn't a translation full of mistakes, errors that come from misunderstandings or lack of skill. Personally, I am in awe of how bad that line in the screenshot is, if I encountered that in a game without the context of the other translations I would have no idea what it meant. It's certainly not an expression I've ever heard before. But it is clearly a choice. You can't stumble into something like that without having gone through the dictionary-perfect direct Google-like translation first. It's definitely bad, but the problem is not a failure of translation. It would almost be like trying to call Robotech a bad translation of Macross.

FF6 and FF7 to an extent both needs a translation with no inaccuracies because the script is pretty minimalist and lore can be between the lines. For example, none of the translations portray Kefka correctly. He's an idiot and talks like a kid. Instead of an insane mastermind who devised his rise to power, he's just plain braindamaged and lucky. It adds to the whole (anti) nihilism theme because all the serious characters suffered from a little shit doing things on a whim.
