Anyone know of a decent Passive Component and/or Composite switcher?Been using some cheap ones from Amazon and they suffice, but have faint bars visible on solid colors, especially on blacks.That scalable video switcher seems nice in theory, but it's usually sold out and not practical for my current setup, especially if I'm buying multiple inputs. I personally like the passive switchers where I press in the buttons for convenience since I'm usually right beside my CRT setup anyways, so having a remote feels a bit extra.I usually only have 4 of each input active at a time, although since I got a component cable for both the Saturn and Genesis, I just physically switch the cable depending what console I feel like playing, but an additional 5th component and or Composite input would be nice down the line.Anyways enough of my yapping, any suggestions? I've been playing PS1 on a PVM via composite. However, I have an official Sony Component cable for with PS2/3. What's to stop me from using it for RGB on PS1 and setting sync on the PVM to "internal"? monitor might actually have sync-on-green. People say the cable should have 220uf caps on the signal too but I'm guessing a PVM won't care. I have to try RGsB because the official cables don't even have the pins for stuff they don't use. Makes it hard to try to get sync. Otherwise I'd just use composite sync and/or a sync stripper. My PS1 doesn't have the RCA jacks on the back like the early ones but from my research that method actually works with the component cable for RGB sync on composite into a pvm.

New to this and I have made a mistake. I opened up the service menu on a CRT I bought to look over the adjustments and I accidentally hit the reset button thinking it was a close menu button and after I powered the TV back on everything looks really dim. I fucked with a lot of the adjustment options as well as the standard brightness/contrast menu options but nothing is bringing it back to what it looked like before.One of the menu options was for G2 Adjust, which looking up online seems to be something that controls power and affects brightness but it's adjusted with a physical knob that is on the inside of the TV. Could I have affected that from the service menu?

Well, this CRT definitely has some issues with color and ghosting (my bad camera makes it look worse) but I look forward to hyperfixating on solving it while ignoring my real problems.I've dicked around in service settings a little bit but I think some of the problems are gonna involve adjusting stuff inside the TV, but I'm going to pick up a component cable today and see if any of this is the fault of the cheap ass composite cable I'm currently using.

Two shitboxes from the dump today. A 14 inch gateway monitor and an old wood grain Sanyo. The monitor is a good compact size and will do SVGA so hopefully it works.

Figured out how to remove the vertical warp at the top and bottom of my screen and I'm ecstatic. The more of this shit I can solve without having to open up the TV the better.

>>12839410>>12839430Look into open matte DVDs. There's plenty of movies that released in 4:3 format and showed more information instead of being cropped. Sometimes it's a trade off where it's cropped some compared to widescreen but it shows more on the top and bottom. Lord of the Rings in fullscreen is a favorite of mine.

Does anyone know why all the HDMI to analogue converters I've tried cast a red hue on the output image? I finally got one that has adjustment knobs on the converter for the colors, so I just turn the red down a little but it's still annoying.

Genesis over composite can be a little rough at times. It can depend on your tv too though and it's comb filter. I had a black d-series from 2002 with atrocious dot crawl but now I have a silver 2003 one and it's flawless over composite. eveyone says you should calibrate your tv with the lights off, but shouldnt you do it with the lighting conditions you plan on using it with?
there's this picture that was posted many years ago of a pixel strawberry, maybe for atari 2600 or similar hardware. with rgb it was just one color with black spots, but over composite changing the color introduced artifacts which made it look like little white seeds were there. anyone have that picture?
