This was the very first game that broke me. I vividly remember breaking down and crying like a little bitch playing this game and my parents pulling me away from it as I punched the glass of our TV after falling the millionth time.

There was parts I never understood and I didn't get very far. I liked the music. Except that part where it sounds like the intro to baba o reilly by The Who.

Incessantly whenever you're near death. That definitely gets irritating very quickly.

I didn't understand the mechanics when I originally played it and there is no way I was reading a manual, but replaying as an adult was a lot easier to grasp what I was supposed to do.

Second W&W game is way harder desu

It's an odd game, but what is there to truly get stuck on? Some dude demands gems, you get the gems and bring them, you're let through. I guess maybe a few of the weirder potion-assisted jumps could be a problem for a little kid?

I don't know about that. Both of them provide infinite continues don't they? I tried a 1CC of Ironsword some years ago and didn't find it super difficult. The third game is where things kinda get crazy... it's got the rambling samey-looking Euromazes of the first game, plus a bunch of weird out-of-the-way locks and keys of various sorts that you have to match together in a big samey maze world, plus a few seriously harsh minigames, minus a continue system. It's the only one I still haven't quite finished (although I think I got to the final battle once).

Pretty much. As an 8 year old kid I didn't fully understand how much you need certain power ups later on and how to properly use them mainly.

dogshit series

There are other synonyms for "bad". It is possible for you to learn to use them even though you are a retard. Even retards can grow a little.

Never tried the sequels. I recall reading a review of the third one and it was very different from the original (and not in a good way).

A bit off topic... but how do you guys deal with raging when playing video games? I've always been a short fuse, but now that I'm an adult it feels embarassing. What should I do to be able to stop being a sore loser in stuff?

I remember being stuck at the growing boss on my first playthrough because I somehow missed the throwing weapon, but I don't remember this game being that hard.
>>

I certainly mellowed out as I've gotten older, so things that would really piss me off just really don't anymore. Try catching yourself before raging out by keeping in mind none of it matters and don't act like a bitch.

Third game is only hard due to the lack of continues and lack of ability to really farm resources/extra lives
>>
lol doesn't the game literally give you infinite lives starting right from where you died

Solar Jetman

That game was amazing, great sound and music too.

That level when you're outside the castle and have to jump on timed platforms in order to climb the castle walls. I remember when I played it as a kid and missed the jumps so many times and fell all the way down to the beginning of the level.

At least that level had best music track in the game to make up for it: https://youtu.be/G19L_H_pm4Q

Nah, Solar Jetman is just one of those awkward NES rare games that tried but still miss the mark and care more about showing off programming tricks then making good gameplay, design or flow.

Its much more fun to play without the ship but you cannot grab items on foot and by the second level the planets became gigantic,as a kid i could never made it pass the 2nd planet and only by accident got a password that let me go further.

You need to learn to get good. Raging mostly comes from people who play without thinking and get pissed off when that doesn't work like the game should owe them the mindless victory. The only reason why "raging" was a meme on /v/ circa 2010 was because of those self proclaimed hardcore gamers who actually really sucked, I mean what is there to rage about in a fucking 7th gen game.
>>
>>12842127
Yes, the game would certainly be easier if they had made it easier.

There are 4 extra lives in the first level
>>
>>12842468
You need to cope less, some games were genuinely broken and badly designed.
>>
>>12841940
Taking breaks helps. Give the game a week/two weeks/whatever to cool off.
If I'm still mad after all that time, I just drop it and play something else. Video games are supposed to be fun. If you're not having fun, you have every right to stop.
