Lets get this shit starteddiscuss a possible xenogears remake (not developed by sq*are en*x), xenosaga HD, future of xenoblade

>>3773722>discuss a possible xenogears remakeNo. I don't want that. Remakes are for retards. They're not gonna go in and make a perfect Disc 2. They're gonna dumb the whole thing down and oversaturate it with bloom.
>>3773742>oversaturate it with bloom.I said not by sq*are en*x, no 2DHD bullshit

>>3773722I had a dream where my older brother finished playing XG and told me it's the best thing he'd ever done. My brother was kicked out of the house by dad when I was a toddler so we never really bonded. He was never a gamer either. But in the dream he played XG somehow and that gave us a reason to bond once, if only in a dream. Just thought I'd share.

>>3773755>Oh, I failed againFuck your meme, Xenosaga was actually completed their trilogy as planned
>>3774192Wrong. Xenosaga was original six parts and eps 1-3 only cover what was planned for episode 1 and a bit of episode 2. If you watch the original Ep 1 trailer you'll notice that a ton of shit from late ep 2 is in it, for example Jin and Margulis' duel on Old Miltia outside the Zohar chamber.
I would like to see Xenogears get a remake if they can find someone capable of preserving the tone/feel of the original.Which is probably impossible. I can dream though.
I played Xenogears back in the day. Very cool.XenoSAGA however was a sloppy mess. Neither need a remake. The story was trash outside of "I'm ID I mean Evil Fei, lol".
>>3773722>Let's get this shit startedIndeed anon. But actually, more akin to fatal dysentery.
>>3773736Some do.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sBG5zhPtp2E&ab_channel=VitorMaccari
In terms of Xenosaga I would like to see the 1 + 2 edition possibly ported or remastered since these games are now quite dated (though still with their charms). Contrarily 3 still looks incredible today
>>3774462I'd like someone to finish the fucking fan TL of the DS game.

>>3774260i would shit my pants if i saw a 24 minute long cutscene of the Gazel Ministry floating in a circle, now fully voicedsome of the scenes really could be dressed up nicely, but I don't think Takahashi is the person to do it, considering how corny and terrible Xenoblade scenes are.
>>3775301So...you'd actually defecate Xenogears?
>>3775301Xenoblade cinematography and choreography are leaps and bounds above anything in gears
huh, okay, i got the sand ship and walking around the desert getting in and out of the mech, mixed unit battles with on-foot fei fighting sand dudes while citan and bart battle tin robots is really fun. feels like there are a lot of great ideas here, navigating overworld with the sand ship is really great but you can tell how limited this is, shame this didn't get the ff7 budget in the end.
>>3775957Keep going
>>3775963lol, i will. was gonna probably put in another two or three hours when i got to the capital city, but the main street crashed my ps2 and the game started displaying garbled visuals. all i had energy for then was replaying the cutscene that played before and then beeline to the hotel to save. ha.
>>3775957Be sure to wipe!
>>3776017there's no bathrooms in the hotel
>>3775744yes, but i don't think it's intentional. it's just that the engine and hardware limitations in Xenogears held it back compared to what we are currently capable of.
>>3776060Its ok anon, just use the disk the game is on.
>>3774462Been playing through the Xenosaga series for the first time and just finished episode 2. I'm enjoying the Saga series a lot more than I thought I would. I've known about them for years and all the flack about how cutscene heavy they really were. Its funny, after playing so many modern games, this series cutscenes seem very minimal in comparison.Either way I'm going to take a break before getting to episode 3 as I hear that one is longer than both the first 2 games so I got nothing else to contribute.
>>3776062Disagreed, vagrant story has better cinematography than 99% of current games
>>3776211I don't think 3 is really longer unless you spend a ton of time doing that block mini game. 3 is also the best one
>>3776211>Its funny, after playing so many modern games, this series cutscenes seem very minimal in comparison. It's a matter of how much time they take up proportionally. 14 hours of cutscenes doesn't really stand out when a game is 100+ hours. It's a lot different for 10 hours of cutscenes in a 30 hour-long game.

Ngl GEARS is kinda filtering me a bit with its gameplay. Am I alright to play Saga or will I miss out on some actual good ass fucking references?
>>3781255Gears is just better as a narrative. None of the games are particularly good or interesting mechanically.
>>3781255Xenogears is hands down the best game. If you're not enjoying it, you probably won't enjoy the others. Unless of course all you care about is coomer shit, then you will like Xenoblade Chronicles 2.
>>3781255Gears is hyped by the story alone, the gameplay is fucking shit. Only diehards defend that garbage ass gameplay. Its one of the few games where its just better to watch it on youtube than to play because you gain no satisfaction playing through that awful gameplay. The problem with Gears is the game was simply unfinished. There's so many issues with the gameplay and I'm not even talking about disk 2 either. Disk 1 was god fucking awful to get through thanks to that shit ass combat and slow as fuck text speed(played it on the original system). Saga's gameplay is at least bearable(until episode 2 but cheats can help with that) and finished. As for the story, its up for grabs weather you like either better than the other but it tries to be its own thing after failing to be the prequel the dev hoped it'd be so its always been stuck in a weird spot on weather its part of the Xeno series or not. Seriously the more you read up on these game's development the more your head will explode.
>>3781487>>3781276>>3781265yeah it's mostly the gameplay. I'll probably give it another try. It does the weird sci fi thing where it just throws you in the middle of shit and people are using terms and parties like you're suppose to know shit and that always filters me early on but I am interested in Elly though.Just wanna know how much of a reference Xenosaga will be since I think Fei or whatever is in it.
>>3781617>Just wanna know how much of a reference Xenosaga will be since I think Fei or whatever is in it.Its barely connected. I should have mentioned that sooner. The Gears characters(if you can even call them that) you see in Saga might as well just be cameos and look-a-likes as its small scenes that make no references to Gears. The game nor the devs can't decide on weather they want Gears, Saga, Blade, Blade X to be connected. Decades of being wishy-washy with the series pretty much. Like I said, development for the early games went fuck all during development. For the most part they're all(Gears, Saga, Blade, Blade X) are standalone despite fans wanting them to connect. The real funny part is the pieces are there for them to connect the series, they just don't want to but also want too.
>>3781617Saga was to be the reboot of the whole of Project Noah as originally intended. If you read Perfect Works, the time period is around the time of humanities tech peak and the Company is what Vector represents.
>>3781652>>3781626ah now i remember why i dropped this game, it just drops you on a dumbass ship and doesn't tell you where to go next. man i forgot how guide dang it this fuck is sometimes
>>3781255Gears has a phenomenal story but nothing interesting gameplay wise. If you want better gameplay just skip to xenoblade subseries
Is it bad that I think Xenogears and Xenoblade 2 are the best games in the series? I think the soundtracks by Mitsuda just elevates them to another level.

>>3783539I have no webm, but plenty of statics.
>>3773722I’m replaying Xenoblade 1, and man, the sidequests are awful. They should learn from Trails.

>>3783860I wonder that "market analysis" really means. Something like >We got to spend X amount to appeal to the Y demographic>Because half of them are expected to die before release.
>>3783863It means the game were shit and unpopular. Who in the right mind would remaster this? And Tanaka Kunihiko is retired. Do they want to change everyone into Xeno 2/3 style?
I've >>3776211 started playing Saga episode 3 for the first time right now, I'm already loving the revamped battle system. Everything feels like an upgrade after ep2.
>>3783863>>3783868It means it isn't a simple reskin like the Xenoblades.
>>3784232How do you reskin shit?
>>3783718blade 3 has better side quests than any kiseki I played
>>3773722>xenosaga HDsimply emulating already works, games actually look fantastic by simply upscaling them in emulators. Of course not much you can do for pre-rendered cutscenes but still, an eventual HD remaster would likely keep them that way too (unless they remake them from scratch or something). Saga 1 in particular feels like early CGI that way
>>3783863i think that has also to do with the timing, the xenoblade games iirc really started booming after that statement so i guess they took that into consideration at that time. As in, a "market analysis" done now would probably be more favorableor maybe they think xenosaga 2 would need to be redone from the ground up and it's not worth it idk
>>3784650Xenoblade's success doesn't guarantee saga's, they are very different in terms of gameplay. In particular, going from the large, involved level designs of the blade games to the copypasted hallways of saga would come as a shock to those unprepared
>>3783863They interviewed like 20 Japanese people on the streets and said "Would you like more Xenosaga?" and the 20 people just said "Who?" and so they figured nobody like Xenosaga. Ancient Japanese way of doing things.
>>3784619>simply emulating already works, games actually look fantastic by simply upscaling them in emulators.?
>>3784954fix your settings (and fix your pcsx2 version if you haven't, idk if they changed it but for a long time they had an extremely old build as the "latest" stable version) cause my game doesn't have those jaggies. Textures maybe, it has been a while now, but that's also saga 1 so not much you can do there. Plus that's Gaignun office that shows up in like two cutscenes
>>3784959>Plus that's Gaignun office that shows up in like two cutscenesIt actually shows up quite a bit.
>>3784969i'm pretty sure it's just a few times in 1 and like once in 2
The three games could be easily one 100hrs long game. Then make one or two more for Episode IV~VI.

>>3787055Saga 3 is one of the best JRPGs for the PS2. The section that follows that is the one of the high points of the entire franchise, culminating in probably the best point in the franchise. Music related. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fF6cifpz8Zw
>>3787189It's just too bad you have to suffer through 1 and 2 to get to it for the story to make any sense.
>>3787207Sadder you must suffer Xeno anything at all.
>KOS-MOS playing the bongos
>>3787207come on only 2 is a slog, and in some cases i still prefer 1's battle system over 3 (mainly the attacks being on the face buttons and them being "customizable", storm waltz my beloved go ahead make my day sayonara baby)and even then 2 could be salvaged if they just add aoe moves to make fights not last a gorillion years, i wonder if 1&2 did that
>>3787747Episode 1 is absolutely a slog. The latter half of the game is almost nothing but protracted dungeon crawls attempting to make up for all the tedious plot dumps in the early game. The combat is also slow as molasses. I know the late 90s/early 00s were kind of the era of overwrought, unskippable attack animations in JRPGs and Episode 1 isn't unique in that regard, but it still makes the game a total pain to play. I can't imagine enjoying this shit on actual hardware with no fast-forward feature. I would probably fall asleep during the Encephelon dive, Song of Nephilim, or the final dungeon.I semi-recently replayed the game and forgot to get Erde Kaiser. God, what a fucking mistake that was. Some of the later normal battles in the game make Final Fantasy IX's random battles seem quick and succinct.
>>3787993i can see the problem, you're not using KOS-MOS (X-BUSTER my beloved)also i used erde kaiser to kinda skip the last few bosses
>>3788011i can see the problem, you're not using KOS-MOS (X-BUSTER my beloved)I was probably trying to catch other party members up to her at that point.>also i used erde kaiser to kinda skip the last few bossesWell yeah, you and everyone else who said "fuck it" cause they got bored of the combat. Can't blame you or them. It's not particularly fun.
>>3787747>storm waltz my belovedStorm Waltz is utterly broken if you give Jr the "damage up at low HP" accessory/skill as it only applies to physical damage and Storm Waltz is the only physical attack all tech.
I liked the story of XC 1 and 2 and most of 3 (the villain organization was kind of shitty).I really liked the exploration of all three.I tolerated the combat in XC 1 and 3, hated in XC 2.Am I likely to enjoy XCX?

>>3794517Episode iv-vi never
>>3794534Usually when one has medically debilitating dysentery they don't want it again.
>>3794534So how was all these suppose to connect with gears originally? Blade too I guess. What are the fan theories? A lot of stuff I didn't understand but most of which boils down to me forgetting the plot of Gears since its been a while since I last played it.
>>3794667It wasnt, it would just be repurposed plot points to avoid copyright lawsuits. I have a bunch xenosaga VI would end like XCX DE did where chaos would be forced to eradicate the lower domain they reside in while a repurposed zarathustra by shion/allen would jetison them to a new parallel lower domain
Is there a fixed translation patch for Xenogears? Or a script?
>>3794667Xenosaga was supposed to be a prequel to Gears. One of the Ormus fleet ships was supposed to be the Eldridge that crashlands on an alien planet quickstarting the plot of Xenogears.
Is it worth buying a Switch 2 just for Xenoblade Chronicles 4?
>>3794667All is the Zohar...but to break it down. Demo a shit.
>>3794667Xenosaga is more of a hard reset with a lot of rehashed ideas pulled from Xenogears' scrapped continuity. Also, Takahashi rips off a lot from Arthur Clarke. That's why he named his company Monolith Soft, after all.
>>3794722>Also, Takahashi rips off a lot from Arthur Clarke. That's why he named his company Monolith Soft, after all.Ultraman -> Evangelion -> Xeno I'm not sure why xenotards keep denying this. It's so obvious. It's a ripoff of a ripoff.
>>3794776It's not, though. The main source of inspiration for Xeno are Arthur Clarke novels - especially Childhood's End and 2001: A Space Odyssey. The Zohar is literally a knockoff of the Monolith from 2001.
>>3795218>>3794776>>3794722Xenogears is Dune + G Gundam.
>>3773722What the fuck is this shit>attacks before the party can move, dealing 1/2 - 2/3 of every character’s health in one hit>If you try and heal it off or defend, it‘ll get its slot turn again (you aren’t building boost so you can’t interrupt it’s turn order), and it’ll wear you down faster than you can get it>if you try and attack to build boost, guess what you don’t get a full boost bar with one round of attacking so you’re killed even faster when it gets its slot again on its second action>High as fuck defences so you’re never dealing large chunks of damage anyways>it heals itself for a third of its HP lmaoMan, i’m interested in what’s happening in the game, but so far the gameplay is fucking killing me. The combat is bad at best, and I swear getting dicked around with “go find this person/thing in a maze of similar looking tunnels (that doesn’t have background music) and we’re not going to give you any idea of where that person/thing is” is only funny the first 3 times.
>>3797255i remember feeling completely filtered the first time cause the slot it "selected" was also the critical hit slot, so his big dick attack basically made me unable to actually fight back cause everyone would either die instantly or almosti then tried again and the slot was something else so i didn't have much issues, but sadly i don't remember what else i did to actually beat it. I only remember the first try being impossible and the second try actually not being too badalso, gameplay only gets better if you invest on moves' speed and power, ignore spending points on stats (or rather give it less priority, and even then you pretty much only upgrade EATK and nothing else). You'll eventually unlock more moves and the ability to use Circle moves (the ones you need 6 ap for) as the second move instead of the third (or both as the second and the third, if you have 6 ap), makes the whole thing much smoother
>>3797255Isn't the gimmick of this fight that you can choose what the boss does by only letting him move on certain turn slots?
Pellegri sex
>>3797299At the start of the fight it does its big aoe attack, and picks the symbol of the slot wheel for that turn. From that point on, it’ll do the big attack every time it has its turn on that symbol (and do a regular single target attack elsewise. Or heal). And since there’s 4 symbols and four combatants…. Until things get shaken up it means it’ll always do the big attack. And 2 big attacks will kill a party. And it takes time to build up boost to disrupt the cycle… so you see the problem>>3797294> the slot it "selected" was also the critical hit slotIf you get that RNG you might as well reset unfortunately.
>>3797255Okay then, now I did the fight again for the fourth time and it just... let me go in front of it, so it only Tremored once at the start, and boosting would only fuck up the order so I could just save those for when it was in killing range. Idk I don't feel like I did much better than the times where I was wiped effortlessly, it's just like 90% RNG
>>3797601>it's just like 90% RNGyeah but luckily it's just that one boss that does it like this. Some other bosses also manipulate rng in some way (or alternatively have weird "act right after <character> turn even if it means acting two turns in a row" mechanics) but all in all i believe that one is still the worst offender in the whole game, and they put it right at the start of the game for some fucking reason
I'm enjoying Xenoblade Chronicles, the wii version I don't like the look of the remake, I like the original art kinda looks like 6th gen vagrant story, would I enjoy gears? I like Xenoblade combat I tried gears some time ago and I liked it but the combat it's a bit slow, is it only combos or is there any skill you just launch or stat customization? I enjoy doing builds
>>3789316Why are Mary and Shelley pedophiles?
>Mary Magdalene has awakened
>>3798012Yeah, Saga's lore is kind of retarded.
>>3798021The whole of Xeno is a effort in crimping.
>>3797719See>>3781487 If you're looking for gameplay out of Gears, look elsewhere. Most of this franchise was spent "trying to get it right" and sadly the Blade series is when they finally got it right, everything before has been ranging from shit to mediocre.

just finished the saga games, i really ended up getting attached to these characters, I'm all melancholy now. At least i know KOS-MOS got into other games but still, episode IV when.also reloaded the completed save and checked the database, i like that they felt the need to point out MOMO could get pregnant eventually. Though at the same time, the ending implied that Shion, Jr and Allen pretty much left forever to look for lost jerusalem, or at least Shion's database entry did that (unless it's a jap quirk and they just meant that it took a long time), so no Rubeding for momo. I actually like the comb system
>>3773733Xenosaga 2 is considered one.
>>3809177running like crap might be on the emulator side, make sure you have the latest version of pcsx2 and fiddle with settings cause xenosaga games have some ad hoc fixes hidden under a gorillion menus. Also, if you're really stuck on native resolution, try switching from hardware rendering to software rendering or whatever, that too can fix some slowdowns (but one of the two won't let you change resolution, hence why it's an option if you can't go beyond native resolution anyway)>does the game get more gameplay heavy now? I actually like the comb systemyeah, you'll basically alternate between gameplay focused sections and cutscene focused sections, and that's all the 3 games in the series
>>3809189Yeah switched to software renderer last night, oddly enough I tried xeno3 to see how it'd run and ran well enough way better than Xeno1, I'll play later tonight I liked the REsque part escaping from the Gnosis, cool little section

I couldn't even play the card game because it always crashes whenever I go into it. I hope someone replies. I just finished Xenogears recently, but there's one thing I can't figure out.If Grahf knew from the beginning that destroying Deus and freeing the Wave Existence would end the cycle of Elly’s reincarnation and the mutation into Miang… then why does he say to Fei:"You still don't understand... even after your contact with the existence? I came to understand after my contact with the Existence that, even if Deus was destroyed... as long as humans still inhabit this land, Myyah... Elehayym, will be born time and again. Then all living things may as well perish along with Deus itself. That's the only path to freedom. The path to release us from the eternal cycles of life, the tragedies of history and the spell of fate!"Like, he’s basically saying that even if Deus is destroyed, Elly and Miang will still be reborn as long as humans exist…But isn’t that exactly what stops happening once Deus is gone and the Wave Existence returns to its dimension? What am I missing?
>>3834970Ep VI
>>3834970Someone familiar with the original Japanese script can give you a better answer but I think he was being figurative there like someone else similar to them will come eventually rather than the same entity
>>3834970The missing link was destroying the Zohar to end the cycle.
>>3835030I saw the japanese script but it pretty much says the same thing "“Even after contact with existence, you still do not understand?I learned through contact with existence. Even if Deus is destroyed,as long as humans breathe on this land,Mian… Elehaym will be born again and again. ">>3835218But why didn’t Grahf know it while Fei did, if both had come into contact with the wave existence? I think it's because Lacan’s contact was incomplete, so it’s as if Lacan’s connection with the Wave Existence wasn’t really able to explain everything to him. Otherwise, if he had known that destroying the Zohar was enough to stop the cycle, his nihilistic desire wouldn’t make any sense
>>3835285Well, there's a second issue. Destroying the Zohar is hard and dangerous. Doing so releases an interdimensional rift, which could potentially destroy the whole planet. That almost happened near the end of the game, but Elly and Krelian - mostly Krelian- pulled some unexplained magical powers out of their asses to stop it.
>>3835290That's a good point about the danger of destroying the Zohar. This is just my take, but I think it makes Grahf's character even more tragic, because his own flawed logic led him to a more destructive path, even with the solution right in front of him.He didn't refuse to save Elly because the risk was too high, he just couldn't believe in the solution at all. His mind was so broken by trauma that his contact with the Wave Existence gave him a partial, corrupted vision of the truth. He saw the suffering, but not the way out.The real tragedy is that he was so convinced that annihilation was the only answer that he couldn't see the hope that Fei represented.
Played Xenogears for the first time last year. Juts started another playthrough with the perfect works mod. Feel like I'm overleveled but I don't know if it's because of the mod, or because I know what I'm doing this time around.

I originally played this on the WiiU and I want to finish ALL the Chapter 12 quests before starting up the new DE content. Would there be any negatives to going into the new content at level 99? I want to beat the level 99 telethia before starting chapter 13 since I never beat the telethia or other original post game bosses as a kid. I'm assuming the content in chapter 13 would make this easier but I'm leaning heavily on doing all of the original game content before doing the new stuff (even though I've done Neil's stuff I purely mean finishing the vanilla stuff before chapter 13

>>3773755Based based basedI gotta try Xenosaga again but I was really bored by the start last time I tried it.Suikoden also had potential for a huge saga, shame the director quit so relatively early and after that it seemed to lose its way.

>>3839053This was pretentious Masato Kato shit, the entire Shevat is full of it because he wrote it. Thank fuck this is the only segment he had any influence.
>>3839568So fun story about that. Apparently, due to tight scheduling, Masato Kato worked late nights on his own writing the Shevat section's NPC dialogue and using various dev tools to flesh out the cutscenes. Part of this process included picking out the music to play in each scene. As you may surmise, Kato was the one who picked Flight (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D8NvMoiRO3w&list=RDD8NvMoiRO3w) to play during the goofy Chu-Chu transformation sequence. Apparently, Yasunori Mitsuda didn't find out about this until much later, and seeing the scene firsthand was a huge WTF moment for him.

>>3839726>Chu-Chu is the key to all of this
>>3839726Some people criticize the crucifixion scene for being tonally dissonant, but the issue isn’t really the scene itself, it’s Chuchu as a character. >>3846195From what little I read the remaster lowered the drop rates and various exp systems when playing offline, making the grind even worst. I just don't know how true that is though since I was barely paying attention to the remaster after it was released and read one lone post about it.>How does that work? Like besides playing with other people, do you get stuff by simply being online or something? Cause i'd assume if that's it i'd need to be on the official (or at least dedicated) serversIt was an interesting online campaign on the original game or at least sounded interesting to me. I emulated the WiiU version long after the game shutdown so my information was from skimming old guides. I don't know what to compare it to but basically is was like a server wide co-op campaign but you didn't actually see the other players from what I read. But as soon as you go online you were automatically put in a party that consists of somewhere around 30 members(I think) where a lot of online gameplay elements opened up especially relating to your faction you chose at the beginning of the game. You couldn't even change your faction until you went online in the original which was impossible when the servers shutdown. The party you were in would get a daily and weekly shared quests and whenever someone finishes the quest, the whole party got the rewards. So you could laze around an do nothing and still get free stuff. A lot of the rewards were things like points/currency used to buy hard to farm materials and such. There were also online only raid bosses.
>>3846205sounds cool, the emulator i use (eden, which is a fork of yuzu) gives me quite a number of open online rooms but apparently none of them has people playing this game (they're mostly all on mario kart and animal crossing, and a barrage of chinese players playing pokémon) so i guess that won't work either waydoesn't really matter anyway, raid bosses sounded cool but materials i can just cheat them in if i need them
>>3846210Yeah X's online was closer to an MMO than your usual lobby games. If they couldn't bring it back on the WiiU emulators I doubt they'd be able to get it on the Switch's especially with Nintendo going on a man hunt for emulator devs. I did like X enough to where I wouldn't mind paying for Nintendo system + online subs for it.

>>3846762fans don't know what they want, give it enough time and even something they had a knee-jerk reaction to will become belovedUnless it's Xenosaga 2's "style", but that's the 1% to the 99%>>3846768i guess both tekken 7 and 8 selling like gangbusters meant it doesn't matter at the end of the day cause enough people will still buy it. Not that different from stuff like gamefreak refusing to go beyond their yanderedev-tier code and/or trying actual new things, they know that their target will still buy the games nonetheless so why bother?
>>>/vg/539764998She's right.
>>3847116What? I don't remember this fight being hard at all.
just started (actually like 10 hours in already) Xenoblade X (switch version), what's the status on missable items/quests? Coming right off Xenoblade 1 where i missed the whole sub-plot with Bana cause the literal single nopon i managed to never talk to until i was already done with the game was his buddy needed for that subplot to happen (and i tried going after him but at that point the ship had sailed given the quests needed Alcamoth), is there something like that in X too? I'm trying to talk to every npc i meet but there's a gorillion of them, shit has a "city" made of one single road and still manages to have hundreds of npcsIrina my beloved
>>3847143Not that I can remember, some sub quests do give you options to save or kill NPC's but it doesn't effect the game as a whole. They'll just be pronounced dead in the npc chart. I only played the WiiU version but I doubt much changed on the Switch. And yeah there's tons of quests in this game and hunting down npcs got pretty ridiculous. In X though, some of the quests from the npc citizens do throw a curve ball and get serious so they kind of get interesting after awhile.
>>3846295There are old men here who hates everything that tries to be subversive / complex and then call FFV as the best thing ever just because it's simple and has a job system they are addicted to
>>3847506those anons unironically think that every JRPG should have basic level story with huge gameplay focus, even for those that are special for their story. Having variety is a good thing
>>3847124If you don't have the optimal gear it's basically impossible. Rasmus does like 80 damage an attack and is constantly being healed + having his debuffs removed. There's no strategies you can employ either; it's just straight up a DPS check.
>>3847519Yeah, but you would have to be super lucky with missing random encounters to not pass that DPS check. You have two large sections - the waterway and the castle infiltration - to go through before getting to that fight.
