I'm just going to say it outright. I'm a new Diablo 2 player. I'm also playing with Project Diablo 2 and not vanilla. And I'm just wondering how do I go about deciding what skills and stats to take when levelling. From what I understand, most builds are trash except a few ones.My character is a necromancer, and I'm most interested in doing summoning.

This philosophy is in hc and honestly applies to most ARPGs in the sense that it's easier to make the right choices a second or third time around plus you'll have all the gear as well as the idea of characters being seeds which may have different rng luck. Mod looks pretty sick actually. I like the idea of end-game uber bosses and dungeons. Skills reworked, shared stash, stacked items... nice.Anybody have things to say about the mod, good or bad? I'm a D2 veteran, played vanilla so much.

I like D2 vanilla, D2R, and Project D2. They're all good. D2R was one of the very few things Blizzard did right in the last 20 years.

Diablo 2 is the perfect game with LoD, the point is to meta game it with all the jank. The only thing that's not vanilla I use is the infinite build reroll.
