First of all, Motomu Toriyama is too busy with FF7 Remake Part 3 at the moment. Secondly, the XIII trilogy is pretty controversial among finalfantasyfags, even XII is more popular than the XIII trilogy (hence the Zodiac Age re-release).
Oh no.Anyway.
>>3840118it's on pc.
As if they need Toriyama to port this
>>3840118
>>3840118>even XII is more popular than the XIII trilogyWell yeah, it's one of the best entries.XIII-2 is the only good one of the Lightning trilogy
Every entry is controversial among finalfantasyfags. For whatever reason this is a franchise where talking about any like/dislike has people frothing at the mouth in hatred. The sole exception are the dissidia entries on PSP because everybody can recognise they're masterpieces.
>>3840118It’s on steam retard
>>38402568/10 bait
>>3840257Not even op but the thread title literally is>Don't expect the Final Fantasy XIII trilogy to come to modern consoles any time soon
>>3840259He’s not wrong about the first part
>>3840272steam deck is a modern console
>>3840425But is the XIII trilogy Steam Deck compatible?
>>384025613 really is a hallway sim. It's not fun to replay except for the story. 13-2 was pure bliss. If you're going to replay anything for the gameplay, it might as well be 13-2. Everything else is the same anyways, right?Lightning Returns was good. But the time management always had me going guide-dang-it. It's not the kind of game I'd replay frequently to memorize optimal routes.
>>3840256>For whatever reason this is a franchise where talking about any like/dislike has people frothing at the mouth in hatredTbf that applies to most franchises, at least on this site
>>3840805For final fantasy it applies to every site. I genuinely haven’t seen this from any other franchise. I guess it’s a combination of every major entry being very different causing a split between people who say it ruined/saved the franchise and it being chuuni shit that teenagers and manchildren take too seriously
>>3840794the time management is so unstrict that you're often just left killing time. The pressure is all in your head just from seeing a clock, the game itself is very loose in terms of the amount of content you have to complete
>>384025613's got a history.
>>3840118Whatever, I unironically want an FFXIII-0 that actually makes use of the setting before it goes to shit. While at it might as well literally call it that and recycle the entire main cast of Type-0 for a shitload of variety in party comp. Type-Next isn't happening anyway.
>>3840118>Motomu Toriyama is too busy with FF7 Remake Remind me how much work Nomura did on FF8?>the XIII trilogy is pretty controversial among finalfantasyfagsYoure so right, thats why II, VIII, and X-2 have no ports either.
>>3840118>even XII is more popular than the XIII trilogyAre we sure this isn't a Stellafag psyop?
>>3849287Nomura essentially replaced Toriyama for FF8 since he was assigned to Racing Lagoon. Which doesn't mean much in practice since he was really only involved in the submarine chase and Midgar, but you could really sense Nomura took charge of stuff for FF8's storytelling. He even worked with Ito so many times over the course of development unlike Toriyama staying with the other event planners.
>>3849298I didnt phrase that well, I meant look at how much Nomura was involved with FF8 remaster (not at all) which surely made more changes than a theoretical XIII trilogy remaster would.
>>3849299I see. Though Nomura did offer his original drafts I think his involvement ends there. What I think he really did was assign his character modeler to the project so they could say 'the Dissidia designs are what they really look like'. The guy worked on World of Final Fantasy, KH2 and Versus 13 after FF8
a tight arcadified linear jrpg with a scoring system for battle technique was actually too high iq for ign readers at the time
>>3840118i'm replaying this on my 360 but i will never play any of the sequals. I never understood why square enix decided FFX and FFXIII needed sequals. Most retarded decision they ever made.
>>3852279>I never understood why square enix decided FFX and FFXIII needed sequalsmoney
>>3849516>tightIt's not tight though. The game is constantly dragging its heels with the endless tutorialization even though there's nothing to do but walk down hallways. It's pretty fun once you get the ability to customize your party but that doesn't happen until you fight barthandelus like halfway through the game.
>>3852279>but i will never play any of the sequals. Why? They are actually good.
>>3852279>I never understood why square enix decided FFX and FFXIII needed sequals. In 10's case I think it was Nomura who said something along the lines of "People liked the world and characters so much they wanted more, so we made X-2."I've no clue why for 13 unless it had something to do with continuing the failed concept that was Fabula Nova Crystallis.
>>385382113 establishes 3 larger villains and literally ends on an unexplained miracle, of course it was going to have sequels.
>>3840118Literally NO ONE except pit faggots has ever asked for more FF13 in any shape or form.
>>3854171the worst thing about 13 was type-0 was collateral damage by association
Honest question: is it true that this game getting split into 3 discs on the 360 had a hand in messing up its development? It sounds silly
>>3854171FF13 is the second best mainline game in the series and the sequels were just as good. I'm sorry you have no taste.>>3855180No the problem was the crystal tools engine was hard to wrangle in general, plus SE during this period went full fucking retard with their development decisions.
>>3855379>>>3854171>FF13 is the second best mainline game in the series and the sequels were just as good. I'm sorry you have no taste.>t.retarded faggot who likes an actual slop game because it was the first FF he ever played
