This kind of combat has been on my mind for a while, and I wanted to get it out of my system. I will die on the hill that this can be good and fun, it's just that a lot of crusty MMOs use this style of combat, and make it gay. A ton of those games make you fight jobber enemies that take 5 minutes to kill, and you have to kill 25 of them in order to progress. That would be bad in any game. It would be like playing a JRPG where the random encounters are meaningless outside of grinding or an FPS where all the enemies in a room just run up to you and perform a melee attack. What do you anons think? Which games do you think are good with this battle system? I'll start by mentioning Star Wars The Old Republic. It doesn't have an auto-attack, so you think that would put it a cut above the rest by being more engaging. However, outside of the highest level PVE content, SWTOR is peak junk food vidya. You're pretty much just mashing all your attacks that aren't on cooldown.
Bump.
I think it can be good when you have customization for the party
>>3844169no one cares, stop bumping your gay thread
>>3843159Don't like it, action combat in JRPG is gay unless it's stylish as Kingdom Hearts or Star Ocean
>>3844175It's not action
>>3844281Shouldn't you post this on a board that plays MMOs?
>>3844169I see what you mean. Xenoblade has more depth with its abilities/skills, for example, but FF12 has way better party building with all the different zodiacs.
