How would you design a jrpg without combat that was more about meeting npcs in a big city and see them interact with each other and just have normal lifes, and then make the female npcs fall in love and get some panis in vagoo action?
>>3844709That's like asking how to make a vegan lunch with meat. It categorically wouldn't be a JRPG. Would you like me to explain video game genres?
>>3844715JRPG aren't only the combat. It can still have all the systems of a JRPG without the combat.
We already had True Love. I'm sorry if you missed it, anon.
>>3844716No. Blackjack isn't a JRPG just because some JRPGs have a casino. Rewards are combat related. You win Weapons, Equipment, or skill scrolls and limit breaks. The "system" is point conversion. Where casino tokens are like [normal currency * 10], so if you have enough money, you don't have to gamble at all. Gambling is just faster.
>>3844729>Combat is very relevant to Combat mechanicswow.
>>3844741That's a sharp observation! If you leave out the combat — what are you designing?Since we're stating the obvious: You don't know. Or, at least, you haven't confirmed or communicated what knowledge you have on the topic.
>>3844717this
>>3844709>a jrpg without combat that was more about meeting npcs in a big cityjust go ahead and cut your dick off, get it over withthen stop posting here, because you dont like video games
>>3844717That's a Simulator. Not an RPG.
>>3844709I'm not giving you designs for free, you fool
>>3844768Design is a verb.
>>3844709Just do what "Cute Knight" games did. Wanna be a legendary alchemist? Go and study cooking, get in rivalry with a bitch and win a contest. Want to be a badass? Grind like a motherfucker for the hardcore dungeon and conquer it. Wanna destroy the city? Get into a few reckless experiments. Wanna discover you true origin? Explore the world and try everything a few times. Classic. Just don't do what "Long live the Queen" did and railroad your entire game into visual novel with mandatory skill checks you have no way of knowing about withough savescumming.
>>3844778But that has combat.
>>3844780Completely optional combat, yes. Only 3 out of 20+ endings require you participate in it, the rest can be done without touching dungeon at all.
>>3844769It's also a noun. You would have known that if you ever opened up a dictionary.
>>3844759combat isn't every mode in videogames. There's dungeon exploration, storytelling, collecting objects, controlling territory, dancing, rythm.A JRPG still has npc interactions in towns, dialogs, shops, cutscenes, non combat minigames, dungeon exploration, world exploration.
>>3844709I wouldn't.
>>3844793Reading and walking isn't gameplay. Novelty isn't a challenge to overcome with skill; not unless you have a mental condition.
>>3844709Make everyone a lesbian.
>>3844709Harvestmoon
>>3845015Some people are weird like that. They want something only because they don't have it. As soon ask you put it in front of them, they flake out.
>>3845015videogames doesn't need to be a challenge to overcome. You don't really have a challenge reading a novel, except you consider reading the words and turning the pages, to be challenge.
"bro rpgs don't need combat" threads are so boring. like, you can't even make an interesting thread, much less an interesting game.
you'd have to make thinking and talking an active part of the roleplay experience like disco elysium; much deeper than just yes/no options common in rpgs and visual novels
>>3844709You just want a porn RPG Maker -visual novel-lite game. Stop disguising it as something special
