It's astonishing how a series exclusively made up of mid games has been able to last that long
>>3850211I don't see how you are surprised, from what I can tell, both the Japanese and weaboos are not picky and are hyperconsumers.
>>3850211There's comfort in mediocrity as long as it ticks enough boxes.
There is a market for AA jrpgs that is almost lost these days.
>>3850263Even if they are, who would even have time to play all this shit?
>>3850340Can you explain what is the difference between a "AA jrpg" and a top jrpg?Is it just the flashy cutscenes?
>>3850211>mid gamesApparently you fail to grasp the core cincept:When producing media, no one expects a genius stroke. On the contrary, it would likely be contra productive. The best thing for any producer is to avoid as many pitfalls as possible. The result without genius will be mid, but mid is perfect for the brainless consoomer.Product design philosophy aside, which entries are nice? Haven't played the series, just watched a few seconds of walkthroughs. I'm going to buy versalai or what's it called, what else is OK? P2 remaster are fine with me.
>>3850369Overall production value: interesting mechanics, high quality sound design, va, qol and ui are up to date and much more.
>>3850376Which of these categories does Tales lag behind on?
>>3850381Compared to what? Ff7r? Everything. Compared to chines solo dev jrpg for 99 cents on steam? Nothing.I dislike the aaa, aa and so on categories. They have nothing to do with games. They started when vidya managers told banks that their proposed games were a, aa, aaa... Tier investments. Now you understand what idiots mean when they tell the world they developed an aaaa game.
I just realised Velvet isn't just a brocon and a shotacon but she also ate her sister
>>3850211does it really count when its been dead for 1/5th of 25 years
>>3850344People with lots of time to kill. What a weird question.
>>3850408Or with lots of patience. Play just a little while every day, eventually you can go through any series even if it takes months and months. (Playing through Trails with 1 hour a day would probably take well over a year, can't speak for Tales)
>>3850485300 hours? Iirc my longest playthrough was divinity os 2. Took me nearly 160 hours, and I started to rush the game mid act 3.
>>3850406Tales of started in 96 so we're technically closer to 30 years now
>>3850405I didn't beat the game, but I got very far and don't remember anything about a 3rd family member. I stopped at some volcano area when I couldn't grind for some crating materials due to their low drop rate.
>>3850211Less Abyss shitposts this time please
>>3850600Remember the main premise of the game, where her brother-in-law sacrifices her brother in order to get revenge on the daemons that killed his wife (Velvet's sister) and "save the world"?
Ednanal
>>3850485I think if you have that little time to play a game, you'd spend it on something better. No, Tales of fans are looking to kill vast amounts of free time.

>>3850770Not a single good game in the top 10. Damn.
The only time I've ever cried playing a video game was during one of Berseria's skits of all things, where Velvet and Eizen are talking about flowers.
Tales of Vesparia was almost great. But seriously lacked edge and the characters didn't bond super well. I loved aspects of the game thought. It's like a 8.5 for an RPG. It's just missing like, something to tie it all together. A reason for caring about any of it. Maybe it's missing a bit of immersion, felt a little too by the numbers. But above average by all means.
>>3850816t. crybaby exorcist
>>3850211As a teen I played Eternia, then Symphonia years later and I thought I loved the series. Most of the other games I've dropped, og Destiny, Legendia, Vesperia. Phantasia remake was fucking good tho.
>>3850892>Phantasia remake was fucking good tho. There's like 4 or 5 Phantasia remakes lol.
>>3850821is this post machine generated
Considering how long Atlus or Falcom exist by now, mediocre shit lasting years is not surprising at all
>>3850770Berseria has a trash battle system
>>3850992No
>>3850211Anon I think you are autistic, like you seriously can't coomprehend the fact that other people have a different taste and might enjoy things that you didn't like? Why is it such a common occurence on this board, some fag posts a beloved and popular jrpg like persona 5 or a series and asks what's the appeal or something. It's pointless to even participate and elaborate one my point of view if you have been essentially filtered. It's just not for (You), that's all, go and play the countless other games available to you, making such a thread or replying to one is an even bigger waste of time than actually playing ""mid"" games.
>>3851141Isn't this the case with ignorant (let's say) people everywhere?
>>3850369Put it simply its about budget. But I would argue that most JRPGs are basically AA or less budget wise. The only AAA JRPG left is Final Fantasy.
>>3850211You could honestly say that about any of the long running jrpg series. Anything 10 games + is not immune
>>3851241Left? FF was the only AAA JRPG outside of occasional one-offs like Legend of Dragoon or Lost Odyssey, which typically required direct financial backing from a console manufacturer. The genre has almost always been AA in nature for most of its major franchises. This is the reason the genre went into decline at the onset of HD. The rise in costs disproportionately affected Japanese developers, who had a lot less resources to leverage compared to their Western counterpoints. As such, most publishers had to slim down their AA offerings to funnel more and more into their AAA endeavors. Capcom needed more for Resident Evil, so there goes Breath of Fire (among others like Mega Man). Konami needed more for Metal Gear, so bye bye Suikoden (and eventually everything else they made, including Metal Gear). Meanwhile the annual-ish franchises like Atelier and Trails were single-A slop that could carry on regardless of what the rest of the industry was doing, so that's why they were some of the only notable releases for part of the 00s and 10s. The last decade has increasingly seen the reemergence of AA gaming, which is in part why the genre has been more prevalent after a dark age of 2006-2015. Tales was originally one of the few AA JRPGs to endure the hard times, mostly because Bamco was a publisher with a shit ton of cash to throw around as the EA of Japan (yearly licensed anime games being the Japanese equivalent to yearly licensed sports games).
>>3851241>The only AAA JRPG left is Final FantasyPokemon of course. Though you'd be hard pressed to tell from looking at screenshots. Kingdom Hearts, if you count that separately from FF. A lot of Atlus' stuff could be considered in he same group as well - the persona games and metaphor re:fantazio. I would say Yakuza at this point too. there's a couple.
>>3851357Isn't aaa above 50 million usd dev cost?
>>3851374where did you pull that arbitrary number from
>>3851449NTA but that's about what FF7 cost. That would be well north of 100 megadollars, today.

>>3850344The tales series is 17 games. I've played way more than 17 games in my lifetime. Why are you so incredulous?
>>3852411she's so cool
>>3851260No most of these series have a few bangers in an ocean of mediocre to mid games. Tales of is just mid game upon mid gameThere's Atelier which might fit the biml but who take Atelier seriously
>>3852572Yeah already preordered. I hope we'll get a laphi to get her company and for me to glue
>>3850211I'm planning to buy versaria, symphonia remaster and bersaria. Yes or no?
>>3850211Better that than becoming soulless like most of the competition though. Like, have you seen what Star Ocean has become? or that Valkyrie Elysium thing they tried to pass as a new Valkyrie Profile game? Compared to that remaining classic is absolutely the right choice and even changing in the direction Arise did can not be seen as an entirely bad move (even though we should condemn games that abandon their souls)
>>3852607But Berseria and Arise did exactly that. They're shadows of the series' former self that barely resemble the older games at this point. Especially for Arise the art direction was the only good part about it.
>>3852605>berseriayes
>>3852611Don´t get me wrong, i agree, i´m just saying that in the other examples the departure of the soul feels more aggressive. Perhaps because the identity of older games was somewhat more unique. All we have left now is DQ and, let´s face it, without Toriyama that one is going to the gutter too.
>>3852619Toriyama only provided the art. I think they can manage that without him. They just need a guy who can provide similarly goofy designs. And I think Tales' identity has been stripped away just as aggressively. Removing the LMBS and coop was too much.
POW HAMMER
I wish we could get a new 2D Tales game. I like the 3D titles, but it hurts when you play something like Eternia, or even things like FFIV in other series, where you loved the earlier games/format, but oh well, too bad, I guess, because we've "evolved" and moved past it forever. Hope you enjoy the new style that plays absolutely nothing like it.
>>3852667>could get a new 2D Tales gameNo dev can do 2d anymore. They lack skill for sprites, ambient design and a fun combat.Best they can do is that nauseating 2.5 like the star ocean remakes or metroidvania.
Oh wait the Tales gachas are all dead, no more Halloween costumes.

Why was this part of the story so... disjointed? The cutscenes went back and forth between a seahaven presumably right after the destruction of the Zenethra, and the storage shed at Hamil, with bits from a visit to Nia Khera throgn in the middle.Anyway, it feels like I'm slowly approaching the end of Jude's path. Probably have another 1/3 of content to go or something like that? There was a journey across Rashugal, a journey across Auj Oule, and now we're going to Elympios for the grand finale?Whatever the case, I'm thinking of taking a break and leaving Milla's path for the remaster.
>>3853643>Milla's path for the remasterIt's shorter than Jude's anyway.
>>3853299I saw the demo they had at Rappig Crossing and they inserted all of Phantasian production text in the game already, with their permission. Most of the hacking is done only missing subtitles for skits. Menu are all translated as well. The only thing that needs to be done they said is the new events they added in TOPX. They're aiming for a release for the anniversary but it might be delayed.
>>3853643I love Xillia's aesthetics
>>3853715Fixed
>>3853719"fixed" my ass
>>3853719I'll keep playing in the darkness to avoid censored sloppa till the end of time.
>>3853744Unless you're playing the JP version, you're playing censored "sloppa" regardless.
>>3853746>More censorship is good because you were playing on slight censorship!
>>3853747Wrong, my point is that all censorship is bad, and pretending like you're "winning" over censorship by playing a censored version is fucking stupid.
>>3853750I am not giving them any money. So yes, i am winning. I had no other alternatives to play the game when i played it on my ps3.
>>3853697Hype, so there's a solid chance that we'll get it before 2027. That's honestly great. I can wait.I'm just glad we'll actually get it.
>>3853688I thought most of it would be the same.I imagined it covers most of the same content you go through as Jude in the parts where the party is together, and the only original things are stuff like the Fort Gandala infiltration, her stay at Sharilton after the injury and things like that. And I guess whatever happens after she kills herself at the Zenethra, assuming she actually is dead, which I'll find out hopefully later tonight..
I was checking my quest list before continuing with the story, and...>#47 The History of Auj Oule (VERY MISSABLE, must complete part 1-4 before finishing Chapter 2, and must complete part 5 before boarding the Zenethra)Fuck me I guess.I didn't go to the colisseum right after Part 3, and I'm past the Zenethra raid now, so yeah.I wonder if the remaster will do anything about missable quests. Throwing a note saying that a quest can be missed if you have't completed it before X or Y events or something of that sort.
>>3853981Incredibly soulless.
Hm. I am mildly confused. This implies... what, that Jude had an aunt or uncle who lived and died in Elympios? It couldn't be some sort of AU Jude or an AU version of either of his parents, right?Because Elympios and what is now known as Rieze Maxia used to be 1 same world.Unless it was 1 same world where parallel versions of people lived together...? That sounds kind of silly to me.I'm curious to see where this goes and what'll happen here.
>>3853984Shouldn't you have saved that for the remaster?
So is spamming jump attack in Phantasia just unstoppable? Lmao?
I hope Xillia remaster will be using Denuvo because that would be funny
>>3854100Nope.
>>3854120It really wouldn't be. It would just be shitty.>>3854121Whatever you say then I guess.Xillia is far more soulful than the turd that is Arise and looks identical to the rest of the PS2/PS3 games sans Vesperia ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
>>3854126Nope its funny because this dead series will even be deader without the support of poorfags and 3rd worlder

>>3854146
>>3850211Its incredibly just how "its there" energy this series has.Like no game is considered a relevant entry for the genre.Like it doesn't have a relevancy era like FF does. Also doesn't have a truly generational game that stands above the genre like ATLUS has with Persona.Vesperia and Symphonia which stood out as the rare jrpg on the system (360/Gamecube).For the longest time its only rival has been Star Ocean, another midcarder in the genre. So on the top you have FF, Persona, From Soft.In the middle Tales, Atelier, Star Ocean. On the bottom Idea Factory stuff. So Tales has mostly being a tide me over franchise for the real games people look forward to. Not the bottom of the barrel but not the best of the genre. Also doesn't help that it lost its appeal as THE action rpg option in a sea of turn based games. Now action rpgs became the standard so Tales is more of a run of the mill in the genre.
>>3854263You could just play games you enjoy instead of the ones that get social media clout. I'd take almost any Tales game over any Persona game in a heartbeat.
>>3854263>relevant entry for the genre>relevancy>generational game>From SoftGoddamn, I pity you kids.
>>3854263>Like no game is considered a relevant entry for the genre.Pretty sure Symphonia is, for better or worse.>Like it doesn't have a relevancy era like FF does. The PS3 era easily.>Also doesn't have a truly generational game that stands above the genre like ATLUS has with Persona.ATLUS specfically went out of their way and transformed Persona with the purpose of standing out. I don't think this needs an explanation, the transition from P2-2 and P3 is extremely obvious and not subtle whatsoever, so.Why do you care about any of this anyway?I rather focus on playing games that I find fun and on having fun with them desu.
>>3854480I think a symptom of internet oversocialization is being so influenced by the current discourse that you get uncomfortable breaking away from it, so when you look at a series that's mostly irrelevant in the mainstream like Tales it makes you anxious and feel culturally isolated, I've felt like that with some games before but I also recognize that it's a highly irrational thought
For Vesperia's PC port, I guess there's no way to get around increased load times if you use Nvidia CP/NA-enforced or Special-K-finagled VSync.I'm tempted to just emulate it.Never thought I'd take stuttering over increased load times, but here I am.
They've really been pumping out the games on Steam. Just checked and there are now 5 Tales games I have yet to play. As a former Symphonia kiddie it's really crazy to find myself in this situation. Still shocked at no Abyss though.
>>3854849I don't know if I'd call 5 games in the last 9 years "pumping them out"
>>3854854Ok they've been shitting them out is that better
>>3854858I hope you're shitting more frequently than that. All I'm saying is that their extremely slow development has been a sore spot in the fanbase, so seeing someone say they're "pumping out games" is weird.
>>3854861Yeah I'm still trying to get through Symphonia since they made the 100% completely cruel and requires like 5 playthroughs so while I wasn't looking the Tales backlog built up on me
Playing Arise DLC since i wanna finish my backlog before Xillia Remaster. Playing it again after years coming from Graces is... something. The moves and animations feel too long and awkward, playing Law after Sophie feels so painful.I wonder if it's possible for the next game to be a mix of>Arise graphics and moveset>Berseria animations and movementAlongside shit like guarding, enemies can be staggered, etc. because we all now classic LMBS is gone for good so i guess a mix of the positives between Arise and Berseria can be good enough. Also shit man Shionne is so fucking beautiful.
>>3854849With Xillia being next, there's no way they don't do Xillia 2 after it. And at that point, I'd be amazed if they don't go with Abyss. It's one of the most beloved games in the franchise. It's the only one left of the "Symphonia, Abyss, Vesperia" trifecta of games that most people always claim to be the best.People have been asking for it for years and make themselves heard every time there's an announcement. The game's director has been teasing stuff for like a year and a half now.I just hope it's a good port akin to Vesperia and Graces. I'll kill myself if it's like Symphonia's.
Tales is just not tales without its Token Loli
What if it's Abyss Remake
>>3854977>Anise will get censored No thanks.
>>3854977if it gets remake, I hope the Alkzeruith bit is redone so the scene of the "party dogpiling Luke into taking accountability for being tricked into blowing up while EVERYONE is trying to comprehend is going on" is done better

>>3855130>with the Symphonia 1 cast often times acting oocto be fair the "evil Lloyd" thing was fake.the only person who seemed to be the same between both games was Zelos but sadly he is a gigantic piece of shit in both games. Hell, he saves a badguy from dying in the sequel

I've only played Abyss, and I actually just started replaying it now despite me hardly replaying games because of me missing it. The cinematography, the UI, the cel-shaded artstyle, the unique plot about a fully prophesised future and the deep multiplayer combat are decidedly NOT mid. In terms of the actual combat mechanics, it varies a lot game by game (xillia is messy for example because of the links mechanic). You sorta have to accept that your fight camera is going to be fucked if you want to try multiplayer.

>>3857282RPCS3 has a hack to fix it, the original Xillia games are at like 70% normal brightness
>>3857282>Did you reduce the brightness or the game was like that? The latter. The PS3 version has this weird low brightness effect that is thankfully getting removed in the remaster. There's a reshade config to fix it in the rpcs3 wiki, but I could notice a performance hit so I don't use it.

People often say Tales are generic but honestly I find them less so than games like Dragon Quest or the myriad of "literal who" series like Trails or Valkyrie or what else. Some forget that no other JRPG series will ever reach Final Fantasy status. Even Persona is seen more as a romance simulator than anything else. Like say what you will but I like to look at things positively, and Phantasia is a classic, Eternia is one of the most fun JRPGs you can ever play in the PS1, Symphonia is the quintessential early 2000s 3D JRPG warts and all, Abyss I genuinely find to be one of the best games in the genre (yes, even with the lategame backtracking). Even Vesperia with its Microsoft-backed giant world and plethora of side content, or Graces battle autism, or Xillia's more cinematic approach to mirror the sensibilities of the more tame seventh gen... I don't know, I find myself visiting this general weekly and wishing more of the sidegames were translated because Tales really *is* unique. Now, if only Namco realized it too...
>>3857537bro how many stupid strawmen arguments are you trying to start with out post. Can you please visit less until you fix your head, thanks.
>>3857537Good, soulful post >>3857569Cringe, soulless post
>>3857537>Vesperia with its Microsoft-backed giant worldIs that what it is? I'm playing through it for the first time and I keep thinking that I've passed the "oh SHIT" moment, only for the game to keep laying it on over and over again. Not that I mind.
>>3857537All look generic. They all look like they come from gacha shit which is ironic since their gachas burst into flames.
>>3854126Xillia isn't more garbage just because Legendia, Zestiria and Arise exist. It never had soul.
So... this game really came and went, huh? Turns out it was a middle of the road Tales and we didn't lose that much by not having access to it for 20 years.
>Anon throwing out stale bait
>>3859060I don't know why people build up translation patches to be these big hype moments in their heads, most people just aren't going to bother. I still see people trying to claim that Destiny PS2 is a bad game because the translation patch didn't make big waves. It's essentially the steam charts thread version of untranslated games, and it's just as fucking retarded and pointless.
>>3859073I just wish Vita3k was better so I wouldnt have to worry about the occassional crash in Innocence R. Caused me to drop it very late in the game when I got one near the end of a super long dungeon.
Play Zestiria
>>3850211Symphonia is great. The only experience I had with the series before was Berseria, and the only thing I liked from it was the magic girl character.
>>3859072He's not wrong, Rebirth's world is boring and baby's first 'racism bad' narrative moreso than Symphonia. Like you have characters using whips on Gajuma just in case it wasn't subtle enough. Also the second half where you go around the world to random dungeons while the queen is in your sister's body and nobody notices drags on.
>>3859157I know you're smart enough to tell the difference between posting an opinion about aspects of a game and claiming a game isn't good because not enough people are talking about it.
>>3859173He didn't say the game "wasn't good because not enough people are talking about it", he said the game is "a middle of the road Tales" and that much wasn't lost comparatively by not releasing in the West because of it. Which I somewhat agree with.

Finally got time and will to finish this. One thing I don't get though is how does this tie into Jude's and Milla's adventure. You need the Golden Key for this portal to appear, but you only get it after defeating Gaius, and after that happens Milla states that she would become the new Maxwell and judging by the final anime cutscene she never really goes back to Rieze Maxia physically, so this kinda doesn't make sense at all does it?Not like it matters, it just feels like a weird decision to me. I don't think there wasn't a reason not to put the Golden Key elsewhere before the final fight with Gaius.Who even is the Golden Mage Kniught anyway. Is it Aifread? Is it Kresnik? Is it a reference to one of the older games? (I only played Phantasia and about half of Symphonia before Xillia 1.)
>>3859683And finally, I'm done for now. That 3rd phase was tough. It gave me PTSD from the Chimeriad fight at the colosseum. GMK 3 was almost as annoying as that one.

>>3859683Tales games always do this, where they hide the key to unlock the NG+ dungeon after a point in the narrative where it doesn't make logical sense for the party to backtrack and do it. Don't think about it too hard.
>>3859683"The Golden Mage Knight is an ages-old creature who desires nothing but battle. He reached the limits of his own strength and decided to observe humanity's fighting techniques. To that end, he spread the Lilium Orbs through the world thousands of years prior to the events of Tales of Xillia. Every advancement the Lilium Orb observes is sent back to him, and through this observation, the Golden Mage Knight gains insight into the advances in fighting that humanity develops. When the group confronts him in the Magnus Zero, he demonstrates his knowledge against them, ever happy for the challenge. He is exuberant even in defeat, happy that someone has defeated him. To push the group to ever higher heights, he unlocks the true potential of the Devil's Arms and commands them to battle ever more as he observes."It's kind of the Sword Dancer from Xillia.

>The truth of things is that when we started the project years ago, we had a LOT more free time as a team. Most of us were in different jobs and had more free time than we do now. Many of us also have taken on work for officially released games and other media, which naturally has to take priority, as that is paid work with much tighter deadlines than what a fan project has.>We've also come across a number of issues in testing that proved that while the text was pretty much good to go outside of some typos and minor fixes... the game and its spaghetti code nonsense needed work. We encountered issues with things like EXP/Grade getting nerfed, a few legitimately game breaking freeze/crashes that needed to be fixed, some readability and timing issues with subtitles, untranslated text buried in randomly deep files that needed to be extracted and properly handled so it would display properly, further subtitles needed for battle dialogue, some issues that existed in the Japanese version of the game that were in turn carried over and needed fixing (such as some incorrectly labeled skits, etc), among a myriad other things. And for everything we fix, we need to make sure to implement and test those things to ensure they're definitively fixed. A prominent Japanese leaker has prematurely disclosed this week's Famitsu magazine interview content.https://ryokutya2089.com/archives/92001Interview with Yusuke Tomizawa from the latest issue of Famitsu-Two or more remaster projects are currently in development, ranging from the verification stage to the final stages of development-We intend to announce the next remastered title relatively soon-Overseas sales account for over 70% of the Tales of series-This is due to global population ratios and hardware penetration rates, not a decline in Japanese users-Development on a new Tales of title is ongoing, but an announcement will take a little longer-The Xillia 2 remaster is still in progress. >>3866473The new font looks like ass in the Grade Shop's interface, but it doesn't look so bad past that.Did they remove the OP completely though, or was it cut off by some sort of Xbox-specific recording app?
>>3866829The OP doesn't play in a fresh save on the PS3 either. It only plays after Milla losing the four.
>>3866869I didn't know that. Dope. And I also just saw that there's a provisional titlescreen if you save before that point. Didn't know about that either.
remember when Bumco packaged ToS and it's sequel in one package on ps3? now we gotta pay for both xillia games seperately
>>3866894Got to make money back from arise somehow.
>>3866894Small indie company
so xillia remaster released, do we know what was censored?
>>3866894They knew DotNW couldn't stand on its own after it flopped hard on the Wii, so they instead went for the "let's pack it with the better Symphonia, that'll push more people to give us their cash" approach.
>>3866962They took out the scene of Jude motorboating Milla's breasts.
>>3866962It literally came out less than 2 hours ago.The pipe is the only known cosmetic that was censored, and then there's an unspecified amount of text>Some expressions have been adjusted from the original work to suit age-appropriate audiences.https://www.bandainamcoent.com/news/tales-of-xillia-remastered-whats-new
>>3866965>It literally came out less than 2 hours ago.It came out in japan a day ago and the remaster is supposed to be the same in all regions.
>>3866969Fair enough, I'm a PC player and for me the remaster just came out a few hours ago. There might be some posts in 5ch talking about it perhaps.
Do animations look sped up at 120FPS for anyone else or is it just me?
I can't really go back to check because I already deleted it, but did the PS3 version have a dash feature?Because if so, I didn't use it.I'm just finding out it's a thing thanks to the PC version, hahaha...Which runs beautifully. Fennmont's Central Plaza was tanking my framerate hard on the PS3 version, but in the remaster I'm getting rock solid 60 FPS. I can't wait to reach Sharilton.
I hate that they made 2 sides yet both plays the same till post Gillandhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dbJguDesi9o&That being said, i do like Jude's section and OP more
Tell me bros, the bazongas, are they safe?
>own Vesperia and Berseria but haven't played eitherWhich one should I play?
I enjoy Tales more than Personaslop. They're unironically more complex games in every way.
>>3867124Vesperia, the combat just takes a long time to get really rolling.
>>3866997It didn't. Graces Remastered also had the dash option enabled, although running faster was an option in the Grade Shop.
>>3867124Berseria for the story and characters, but Vesperia is the better game, overall. Berseria's equipment and auxiliary systems are completely RNG and trash.
>>3867072Why do you want to hurt yourself? Just play the original. You already know they censored a fucking comical prop, do you think everything around teepo or elize will be untouched?
>>3867072No one plays video games in 4chan. You should ask r/tales or neogaf/reset era tales thread
>>3867204i mean for now nothing came out about this
>>3867072if only retards played games instead of bitching about things they made up and spent the last year convincing themselves was real
>>3866997I think Dash was added in X2. I dont remember it in PS3 Xillia 1
>>3867249Correct, Xillia 2 has dash and even different more than one animations for each character, it was a free Skill if I'm not mistaken. Or cost just 1 point.
the fuck you mean
>>3867260Oh? Where does that show up and what does it refer to?I didn't see a popup like that, although I stopped playing before leaving Aladhi Seahaven yesterday.
>>3867269was watching a streamwent back and looks like it to refer to the credits
>>3867154Berseria's equipment and crafting system might be the worst I've ever seen so far. From UI/UX to effect, how to farm and craft and whatnot. It's truly amazing how badly they fucked it up.
>>3860601Are the skits in the american ps1 version, or were these Japanese only? And what's the battle fix?
>>3867296Japanese only. Also, see >>3861516.
>>3867289It just needed a way to get the random skills you want through crafting. I'm not sure why they made it pure RNG.
>>3867072they're bazongone
Elize Bazongas
>>3867308I wanna lick 'em and her.
>>3860601how do you use the texture pack?
>>3867358Stick it in the textures folder
>>3867358Drop the ULUS whatever folder inside memstick\PSP\TEXTURES at PPSSPP's folders, and make sure you have the Replace Textures setting enabled in Settings > Rendering Mode. You can optionally set up a hotkey at Settings > Controls > Control Mapping > Texture Replacement to toggle them with a key press.
>>3867303It also needs a UI where you can actually read the entire skills and better manage the desynthing. Literally everything about it was just cancer.
>>3867289Have you played Zestiria? It's much worse there, although the game let you raise the probability of what skill the farmed equipment will have at least.
>>3867366I liked the column and stacking mechanics but I felt the issue was that upgrading and planning was time and gald intensive. Berseria at least rewarded you for deconstructing old equipment in favor of new
>>3867303I always felt like random skills weren't relevant enough to make or break a build since you get the best bonuses by simply having lots of very upgraded equipment
>>3867374Yeah, there's that. Berseria has few useful Skills and bonuses.Zestiria let you build insane combos with stacks and lines.
>>3867374You can get really strong bonuses in theory. Invincibility for up to 2 minutes, quadruple stun time, triple status chance that comes with triple damage to statused enemies, but realistically, unless you use something like cheat engine you'd probably just stack BG generation, if that.
I completely forgot about Preza copping feels on Milla
>>3850211I can help milla's body awaken to the joys of...you know.
>Have 20 Sunlight Cores in AbyssYeah, I think I have enough for every relevant FoF change now.
Can I safely sell my weapons in Xillia? In Graces the previous weapons were used to make better weapons and I'm wondering if there's a similar system in Xillia.
>>3867464IIRC Xillia has crafting so don't.
>>3867465No, it doesn't. Just Shop Levels.Xillia 2 has crafting.
>>3867465Only 2 had crafting
The boost in textures' resolution and shadows is welcome.
Pantyshots intact
In Symphonia the original plan for Colette’s journey was that she go with Reine and Kratos before Genis and Lloyd tagged along after getting banished from the village. If those two hadn’t come along what do you think Kratos would have done to Reine after Colette fully turned angel? Would he have just merc’d her and moved on?
>>3867507Her name is Raine dipshit.
>>3867513What kind of a surname is "dipshit"
>>3867507Kratos definitely would've killed Raine, he doesn't give a shit if Lloyd isn't around and revealed to be his kid.
>>3867455Built for estreme sexo.
>>3867513Raine was my second VG love.
>>3867150Oh shit. I'm gonna be down in Tokyo then. I am going to try to do this.
How is the Switch version of Xillia? I am traveling a lot for work so I don't mind a graphical hit for the sake of portability. I enjoyed what I played of the PS3 version but never beat it.
>>3865223>>3865161She's very long-lived, isn't she? I figure there would be other issues.>>3867150These promo artworks never fail. Funny that Arche still gets such billing.
>>3867513No, it's actually Refill :^)
>>3867578I heard there's slowdowns during some taxing fights that involve lots of characters and skill animations playing on screen all together, but other than that it's okay.Take it with a grain of salt though, I'm not a Switch player.
>>3867610Oh i am gonna re-fill her allright, in the right place with the right liquid.
https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2606852201?t=2h25m18s
>>3867723was she ok
>>3867726No.Maybe, I haven't played X2 yet.
>>3867726Every dead baddies on tales get isekaied on Rays world
MUTTON, FRESH MUTTON
Next time anyone pretends Xillia was ever as good or as popular as Symphonia or Vesperia, show then this
>steamcharts
>3867806I don't give a single fuck about charts, anyone who posts them or anyone with an opinion that is equivalent to "Xillia sucks because I don't like it".
>>3867817I would respect that more than chartposting.
>>3867824This. At least the hater is honest. Chartfags just hide behind numbers
>>3867806Maybe next time they should do a better job.
>>3867559she knows
>>3867515>Genius DipshitWould be kinda funny actually
>>3867817>i-it doesn't countXillia was always trash, deal with it
Poor Leia is gimped in X1 man, so few artes for chaining and no air dash despite being an aerial character
What are they looking at?
any censors found yet?
>>3850211Could be worse. Star Ocean has managed to stick around for 30 years based off the quality of one single game while everything else is basically 4/10 dreck.
>people freaking out over censorship>only thing changed is moustache pipe and text description of said pipe>nothingburger
>>3868025Costume DLC being cut like 75% is massive letdown. I dont care if its about "muh license"
>>3867806You have to remember that because of Namco's/Bamco's retarded platform hopping, there's a very good chance that Xillia was many people's first and/or second Tales title.
>>3868029>>Costume DLC being cut like 75% is massive letdown.>DLC Costumes included: 6 School costumes, 6 Swimwear costumes, 6 Maid/Buttler costumes, 8 Crossover costumes and 6 Santa costumes>Total: 32 costumes>DLC Costumes not included: 6 StarDriver costumes and 3 IdolMaster costumes>Total: 9 costumesYou just want to be mad Anon.I mean, to each their own, but don't try to pass it off as some sort of valid complaint. What's valid is that the 3 Idolm@ster costumes absolutely should have made back in.If there were any potential issues with the license for the music track they used, that song could have simply been cut.But still, it's absolutely not the end of the world that they were excluded as the vast majority of the costumes are all still there, same accessory count as well.If you don't like a single costume or accessory currently available including the party's base designs then maybe you never liked the game in general, because why put up with a game whose characters you don't like, right?I don't understand why people here and on >>>/v/ just WANT to be mad at something, but man that sure is a really really weird way to spend your time, ngl.
>>3868088I dont care. Its inferior.
>>3868088he screams like one of those "IT GOT SLIGHTLY CHANGED, IT'S ALL RUINED" idiots
>>3867891bazongas
>>3868093That's like 90% of Steam forums.
>>3868090 9 (paid DLC) costumes being removed doesn't make it inferior, specially when its pros far outweigh the PS3 version's or its RPCS3 based emulation.Stay mad, Retard.
>>3868102>Eating the censored sloppaDon't try to fit in.
>>3868113But Agria's death was *un*censored?
>>3868118Apparently, they got the middle finger back from the JP version.
>>3867982I can smell the idiotic SO2 fan from a mile.
>>3865999>>3865725Anon is correct, Mikleo was created to be the narrative heroine. Mikleo is one of the primary causes of the story and also fuels Sorey’s primary motivation. Yhe only reason why he's male is because the head writer didn't want to write a romance, because he wanted to be different.
>>3868514>didn't want to write a romanceYeah but he made a bunch of people gay (like me) for him and fed the fujo fanbase like nothing before it, except luger maybe.
>>3868566>Ludger>fujo How, dude was clearly into Fractured Milla
>>3868570Do you have ANY idea of the amount of fujo material you'll find on him? Also about the xilla's girls pegging him?
>>3868573B-but he's canonically straight. An integral part of the plot has him, or alternate version him, cumming inside a woman and having a daughter. What the fuck.
>>3868578>What the fuck.Yeah, don't ask me why because i wasn't really around on xilla's release so i don't know what happened. But it is really fucked up.
>>3868570Milla is made for ryona (by muzet)
>>3868570Ludger canonically has a wife and daughter but for whatever reason, he has an insane amount of doujins of him being a bottom to the girls.>>3868514Yeah, if Mikleo was a woman, the Alisha/Rose shit would never happen.
>Luminaria EoS was 3 years agoWhere did the time go and new Tales when?
>>3868514Might be shocking to you, but it's fine for a game or story to not have a main couple.
>>3868625Literally what the fuck were they thinking releasing this while they still had 2 other Tales mobages running? Why did they think people wanted a mobileslop standalone Tales game?
>>3868667>Literally what the fuck were they thinking releasing this while they still had 2 other Tales mobages running?infinite money x3
odds of bamco patching the bug where skits don't show up if you play at higher framerates?
>>3868682Considering they patched most of Symphonia's problems and this port, unlike the other, already has way more quality and QoL on release + runs at 60/120fps. Extremely likely.
>>3868625based 100% on the designs, I like the girl on the left and the big cowboy guy on the right. You could cut the rest of the cast there and that'd be cool
>>3868625>an actual princess, an implied some kind of homunculus, a prince from a fallen kingdom, a genius inventor from a rich family which was forced to run away from home because a villain group wants to kill her for some reasonI don't remember what's the cowboy guy deal but the characters are actually more interesting than the ones on last few Tales games desu
>>3868682Higher than zero so long as people actually submit tickets to Bamco reporting the issues instead of keeping them on Re*dit, Gamefaqs or w/e.
