what RPG games are comfiest to you? any particular ones that you are drawn to on rainy winter weekends?
I always found Ni No Kuni to be very comfy. I love any game that lets me explore a big cool fantasy world, especially if it's rife with colour. The pokemon-esque creature collecting and battling was great too, likewise the music.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pqy99Zm_eDI
>>3850704KOTOR1 in general is very comfyIn KOTOR2, the parts on the Ebon Hawk right after you escape from Peragus and Telos Polar Academy are the comfiest. I also have a soft spot for Arcanum, often play it around late November.
>>3850704The fishing alone in Breath of Fire IV makes it my go-to comfy game. I also like to make every now and then a run on Fallout: New Vegas around the Survival skill and live off the land as much as possible.

>>3850704I Plan to go back to play dragon quest X>>3850705This game was really comfy
>>3850704the first ones that come to mind are Mass Effect and Lost Odyssey, but to be honest I find playing games in general to be comfy
Stardew Valley is immensely comfy, which is funny since Eric doesn't consider it a comfy genre game. He sees it as an rpg that just happens to be comfy at times. But man, that opening scene, tiny cabin at the start, music, seasons, festivals, comfy as hell.
>>3850757>He sees it as an rpgWhat a tard.
>>3850759Ok retard.
>>3850757>Stardew Valley>comfyNot with a 14-minute day.If anything, Stardew forces you to constantly rush if you want to get anything done.It can be comfy at times if you've already completed all the major tasks, but then...By the third year, the game becomes creepy. Your children will never grow up. Residents will repeat the same phrases in an eternal, static world, stuck like in Groundhog Year. You want some explanation for this genre shift. Some story. But the game actually ended long ago, and you're stuck here, in this unchanging world.Eventually, you'll leave with the feeling that this creepy world remains. Somewhere. Somehow. As frozen as before. Your friends, wife and children are still here, but they'll never see you again. To be honest, this only happens because the game is so soulful and good at the start, but still. When the world stops, it's noticeable.
>>3850760Yes, that's what I said.
>>3850773These complaints are tiresome. It's just like the "I should be able to make multiple choices that vastly shape the world in different ways requiring essentially entire games to be developed solely for my playthrough." And it's like, no, that isn't a thing. You're asking for 10 games to be made. That's NOT reasonable. Yours is just a twist on this. "I want unlimited content forever." Well you can't have it. In Stardew or anywhere. As far as rushing, that's a fun mechanic to force you to plan your day, order what you want accomplished first. It also drastically effects multiple playthroughs. And at the end of the day, it's your own mind. There is no rush. You can do nothing at all for as long as you want. You can do nothing but fish. You're the one trying to min max. With the exception of actual challenges like trying to get through x number of cave floors in a single day, but that's a specific challenge which also can be totally ignored.
>>3850774False.
>>3850704At this time, I'm in the mood for Dragon Age and Baldurs Gate
