Which one?
>>3859798No
>>3859798Chained EchoesBut this board has pollacks who think it's just about cuckoldry and a depressed protagonist = automatically bad SoS is not the worst game, but it's truly soulless. Unashamed at showing "I'M CLEARLY INPSIRED BY CHRONO TRIGGER, MARIO RPG, OCTOPATH" while not doing anything new at all. (Shame on Mitsuda on contributing as well, even more that his guest track is kinda forgettable)
>>3859798I have recently been playing Chained Echoes, and I haven't tried Sea of Stars, but it's good.>>3859916I've registered zero faggotry so far. It's a bit "multicultural" with all the various races and weird things, but it comes across as gonzo and eclectic rather than forced or diverse.
The only things I found bad about Sea of Stars were the story and characters. The story is dogshit and the characters have as much personality as a pile of wet cardboard.A shame, since I enjoyed the combat system quite a lot, the story being so bad made it kind of hard to keep going.
>>3859798Both are mid but Sea of Stars has some decent puzzle dungeons mid and late game. >>3862745>but it's good.Keep playing and you'll downgrade it.
I haven't played sea of stars longer than a few hours, I liked Chained Echoes a lot so that one.
>>3862804>zero faggotry so faryou will soon, although like I said earlier, only the most unhinged of /pol/tards would find it a material to seethe about.
>>3862851Sorry, this reply was for >>3862745
Keylocker is better than both.
>>3862922That shit looks gayer and pozzed than Sea of Stars desu, despite the idea sounding cool
Sea of Shit is fucking shitty dog shit. I can't believe this fucking game got indie goty. Geoff is a fucking hack.
>>3862984The game awards are popularity contests, not quality. In many cases the judges and those voting haven't even played the games they're voting for.
>>3862984Bwahaha I didn't even knew this shitty game got something like this.I haven't played Chained Echoes but don't play SoS. It's a waste of time.
>>3859798SoS being described above by an anon as soulless is a perfect descriptor. I played both and Chained Echoes is a vastly superior product and experience. It also got some updates and a DLC (I haven't played that yet) so it's a solid choice.
>>3859798When do you get to use big robots in Chained Echoes?
>>3859798Sea of Shills is some of the shittiest swill I've ever swallowedI sincerely seem to have secured sad sorrow seeping from this... Shit
>>3859798CE easily, on account of how bland SoS is. CE is very clearly also inspired (FMA, Xenogears) but it at least does something with it and tries to tell a grand story. SoS is literally just CT memberberries.
>>3864339Beginning of act 2, so around 8~10 hours.
>>3864810Making a JRPG inspired by Xenogears and FMA is a feat by itself imo
>>3864812Only at the beginning?
>>3864961Nah, starting from act 2 you get access to them for the rest of the game. However you can't use them 100% of the time because some areas don't permit it (to prevent using them against mobs which are intended to be regular ground battles).
>>3865074oh okThxDo you know any good mecha games, especially rpg?One I aware of with some rpg elements is https://store.steampowered.com/app/780310/The_Riftbreaker/
>>3865222Xenogears & Xenoblade Chronicles X are the only ones I know off the top of my head
>>3859798Threads of Time will soon overshadow them both as ultimate Chrono Trigger wannabe.
>>3859798I found CE to be a much more defined game with clearer vision as to what it wants to be. Interestingly both games received DLC.
>>3859798They're both okChained Echoes has a better story, music and combat systemSea of Stars has better art and maps design and traversal.
How onions is Sea of Stars? I'm getting some cringe "Steven Universe" vibes from a lot of the stuff I've seen, especially with the fat dyke thing that's in the party on every screenshot.>>3865235Threads of Time look interesting, but all the bloom and haze on all the screenshots is seriously putting me off.
>>3859798Neither. quit falling for false nostalgia and just play an old game.
>>3870053>calling out people for false nostalgia>old game is better based on your rose-tinted glassesThe irony
>>3870058That's not irony, retard. If you want to play an old game play an old game not a new game cosplaying as one. You're illiterate.
>>3870051>the fat dyke thingI assume you're referring to Garl. The entire story practically revolves around him so much so that the two lead protagonists could be written out and it wouldn't change much. I didn't hate the game and I was able to stomach 100 percenting it but I wouldn't recommended it to anybody. It's just generally bland and completely lacks any of the charm The Messenger had. Definitely not wasting my time on the DLC.
>>3870059"new game cosplaying as one">you're illiteratethis is you calling yourself for having that mindset
