Hello, is there anyone on this board who has played Felvidek? What did you think about it? It's honestly one of my favourite little rpgs to come out as of late and possesses a lot of charm and artistry that I wish more corporate, bigger rpgs had.
Worthless RPGmaker slop for retards.
>>3861310I wish it had better art. There is more to art style than just look different.
>>3861313Fuck you >>3861326What are you talking about? The art is great
>>3861310Never pay more than $0.00 for an RPG Maker game.
>>3861310It was neat and charming, not a game I would replay it any time soon. Some funny bits like putting a jew in your inventory. Cool music too
I heard people compare it to Hylics, but I've never played it. How is it?
I liked it Sure it's short and simple but the characters and the interactions are fun
>>3861310It was amusing for what it was, I don't understand why it gained traction with the journo hipster crowd.
>>3861330RPGM isn't the problem. It's lack of unique assets of actual creativity from most devs.
>>3861429which this game has
>>3861310I played it. It's okay but it's too expensive for what it is. If it was a full game with several dozen hours off gameplay free from RPGmaker I think it could have been a huge hit
>>3861310Putting in animation cutscenes for eyebleeding pain is where it pushes itself as too hipster. The rest was alright. Agree with what most others said about it. For what I got I wish I payed less
>>3861506lol. lmao.
>>3861310it had some laffs and i can appreciate its extremely specific brand of autism>>3861545if anything it's about an hour too long
>>3861310I played it. And I'm not someone who ever plays RPG maker stuff, this was a weird purchase for me. I think I saw the trailer during a game show and put it on my wishlist, then bought it on launch but let it sit in my backlog for over a year. I played it on a weekend when I had nothing else going on. I got sucked in by the 1400s stuff (I really liked KCD) and just kept playing. The combat was short and sweet, and the characters and quests were funny so I finished the whole thing in one night. All-in-all a great time. I didn't need a walkthrough at any point.I heard people put it on the same level as Hylics (another game I'd never played but only heard about) so I tried that out too. I did not enjoy Hylics and put it down after a half hour. I felt zero interest in any of the characters or world, its fun to look at but the dialogue is all random nonsense that changes every time you restart the game - why should I care about a story where then entire script is a mad-lib?
>>3861425>>3861545+1, totally agree
>>3861731>I didn't need a walkthrough at any point. IIRC there are some things you miss on if you don't know about them in advance. Ex. if you take stuff out of random people's drawers/chests, you won't get a specific event involving some thieves (because you've technically put the thieves out of business by robbing the folks).
>>3861310looks cool but the game gives me the impression the designer is one of those deus vult larpers
I like it because I'm from Croatia and it's the closest I've ever seen to medieval Croatia portrayed in a modern and entertaining work of fiction. (Croatia and Slovakia were both parts of Hungary in the middle ages)
>>3861310I think It has fun little aesthetics and a good soundtrack. Dialogue is sound too.But the gameplay part of It is rather short and not that interesting. It is moren of a single experience game. You play It once and never again. And It is pretty competent at that
It's a short and sweet game, fun setting and characters, beat it in one day.
>>3862089It makes you wonder why actual titles of real studios are so lame in the writing department. The setup of the two main characters is extremely interesting and the execution is even better- the point it reaches where they're scolding their own lord for having a spicy mural in his chambers is unforgettable to me and I played it just once quite some time ago.
>>3862145It's due to the sheer corporate nature of studios, video games, and even mainstream high-budget entertainment in general nowadays. I mean think about it, the dude behind Felvidek is probably just a very talented dude from Slovakia who is probably a pretty funny guy who has read his fair share of history books and literature and has the means to make an entire rpg on his own and his own terms. Most corporate entertainment is made by soulless committee that is determined to run the same cyclical reddit trends and tropes as much as they can get away with and feed the braindead public as much actual feces they can shove down their gullets. Nowadays the idea of a singular artistic vision (especially of one who isn't an industry veteran with some sort of reputation) directing his own large mainstream property on his own tems and with his own ideas is a novelty. Originality and actual artistic integrity is not appreciated or given a chance to neither from the public nor the publishers and developers themselves so it's just a loop that will keep on going till we all get hit by a nuclear bomb or hopefully something changes.
>>3861825tonally it's a mix of /int/-type banter and history nerd humor
I loved Felvidek. I'm not usually a fan of JRPGs, but I thought the writing was really strong and the combat was "fun". The art and music were great too. Just a nice all around package, and not too long.
The game is basically 15th century northern HungaryxEarthbound version of Berserk, about 5 hours long. I wanted to write out the antics of the tavern stuff of Pavol and Matej with the cult leader before the signature arrival of Adam that highlights the cleverness of the intrigue but it takes up too much space. I think if they had made a full-sized game with some quality improvements beyond RPG maker it could have been hit.
>>3861310>>3861329You're making it too obvious that you're the dev shilling this garbage
>>3861310OP it's fucking amazing and it's sad seeing people shitting on it because it has a price tag. I mean I think it's worth paying for but just fucking pirate it, it's still worth it>>3861313>>3861326>>3861330>"LOOK MOM! I'M BEING CONTRARIAN ON 4CHANAGAIN!"
>>3865215bumptard woke up, huh
>>3861310I played it the original slovak and it's way funnier than the english translation.
