How long is the finished game? Last run I did was probably like 2 or 3 years ago.
>>
>>3864886
Dunno. I got 60 hours in before deciding to wait for a full release and apparently the campaign is over a hundred hours.
>>
>>3864898
I really enjoyed the writing and worldbuilding, but some fights were pretty bullshit.

I feel like there are a lot more bullshit fights towards the start of the game, the first real town in particular has a bunch of encounters that can fuck you over if you get repeatedly disabled or sometimes even if your stronger party members get silenced once. I think it's there to teach you "buy some better equipment/immunity items, retard" but it's also a stage of the game where you really want to try to conserve money as much as possible. Once you hit the stage of the game where you have at least a decent set of equipment one everyone and enough protection items to go around it gets a lot easier.

Heh.
My point wasn't just that you were overly reductionist, but that it's possible for something to be technically true while also not being accurate. If someone asked me how large the Earth was and I said "larger than my fist" it's both true and entirely inaccurate.
>>what part is innacurate
Almost everything. I guess you got the fact that it was made in rpgmaker right. And that it's a deconstruction, but that isn't a criticism in the way you seem to have meant.

I played this for like 5000 hours and got all the way past the second gathering and can't be bothered to finish it even though I think I'm near the end. The plot becomes a weird shonen thing so I lost interest.

To put it another way, by the end of chapter 3 you've already met almost all the main characters, finished their character arcs, and beaten the main villain. But there are still two more chapters to go, and they're longer than the first three. So in order to stretch the story out, the plot moves into the realm of power scaling, introducing a stronger baddie to replace the previous baddie and adding a new tier of power that invalidates everything from before. It's just not very interesting.

This is a major flaw of stories made over a long period of time, they tend to become bloated and ramble off their original path, as the author grows bored or forgets where they were originally going, or runs low on ideas. Like a long running manga, or Umineko.

Now, I could overlook all that if the porn or gameplay kept me interested. But the sex scenes have bad art and the most cliche "erotica" style writing, so they're worthless. And the gameplay is basically finished by chapter 3, you don't get many new toys to work with after that so it's a repeat of the same strategies over and over but with bigger numbers.

I also think the MC's character development ends early on and a huge moment that happens later which COULD have changed things just, doesn't... it's clear that by the later chapters, the author was afraid to shake anything up too bad, to avoid upsetting longtime readers.

So it's a game you pretty much play entirely for the plot and they lose the plot halfway through.

All in all, I recommend this game if you're fleeing from something terrible in your everyday life and need something to waste hundreds of hours of your time. tl;dr /weg/ devs gotta stop milking patreon and get a fucking editor.
>>
>>3864958
I don't really give a shit about the sex scenes but does it really become that bad? If I remember correctly I also cleared the second Gathering and at that time there was no content left. I didn't really mind the shonen power scaling that much but I get your point. Still think the content till that point was kinda neat.
Replaying it now and it seems the visuals also changed? It's still a RPG-Maker game but it seems like the towns got somewhat "polished".

>>3865004
If you liked the story up to where you left off then you'll probably continue liking it. (not that I played past where you got to, so I can't say for sure)
I mostly didn't like when the focus all shifted to tower stuff, everything revolved around it after a certain point and every new threat had to be "tower tier" or something, like you can't just fight orcs they're now "tower orcs". It reminded me of shonen power scaling and felt much less interesting than the early parts. Especially because the Fucklord is just the Incubus King but weeb flavored... oh but he has TOWER stuff so it's different, yeah... It cheapens the war part too I feel, the Erosian war is mostly decided by superheroes teleporting around in other dimensions and not by armies or strategy.

I was especially disappointed by his wife coming back, that's the big moment I referred to and it felt like a bit of a nothingburger. Robin and her barely even interact, it's weird. Some impossible shit goes down and everyone besides the necromancer girl is like
>Wow... so that just happened!
it feels like that should be a critical moment that changes the whole story but it's just picking up another character for the collection. That's when I felt the game maybe ran its course and the author began ticking off boxes to try and wrap things up.

I'm probably being more harsh than it deserves, it's not a bad game but maybe I felt more let down because it's so long and I put lots of time into it.

I will say some aspects of the game design got better over time, Aka's route for example is pretty annoying if you're trying to find all the optional stuff, whereas in later stuff the missables are harder to miss which I believe is an improvement.
>>
>game advertises itself as a no grinding rpg
>in practice this means there's a limited number of enemy encounters, and therefore limited gold and exp opportunities
>as a result fighting every single encounter is actually mandatory making the game even more tedious than if there was the option to grind
>also limited gold means you have to be especially careful about conserving consumables and avoiding upgrading equipment, which is directly at odds with what the game tells you you should be doing
>>

yet you couldn't address those inaccuracies directly with argumentation and instead cried about style. obviously my post was a self-aware jab at the game, using common vernacular in order to undermine its undue reputation among the 110-20 IQ bracket, a subversive critique steeped in the 4chan milieu.

Misunderstanding a simple analogy is nothing to be proud of. Neither is being so mentally deficient you can't make an original comment and instead have to regurgitate a slurry of buzzwords you learned from some other retard.

I liked it. The writing is engaging without taking itself too seriously or treating everything as a joke and the worldbuilding is great, there's a lot of optional details if you go looking for them but even a casual player will enjoy the thought that went into the world. Interesting take on an actual experienced MC, which is something you don't see often and especially in eroge. The investment mechanics are pretty well-done and the game does a good job of making you consider what people actually need compared to what they want and having to balance the two, because pouring all your money into public utilities doesn't matter if people hate you for it. I also found the different gameplay sections like the Gatherings/negotiation segments and the war sequences fun to play through, it's neat pulling something off the first time and getting rewarded for it and I also enjoyed optimising them on a replay.
tl;dr well worth a playthrough, or at least playing long enough that you get bored. Plus it's actually finished.

>>3865152
Go back to your containment thread already, farquaad.
>>
>>3865157
sorry, you are very wrong, i'm straight and didn't mention anything about the game being bad because of some heterosexual bogeyman, which is the biggest tell he has.
upgrade your farquaad detector. i'm probably the best at recognizing him on this board, so i can give you tips.

I wish this game was slightly less autistic. I genuinely can't bring myself to care about RPG maker combat enough to deal with the difficulty nor do I want to play with a guide. I remember thinking I got past the worst of it but by the time I got to this one tournament arc where the MC had to beat a bunch of orcs or something my fucks ran out and as interested as I was in seeing the story unfold the juice just wasn't worth the squeeze.
