>Why are people so obsessed with this game?
This is probably the dozenth time I’ve seen a no-content slide thread posted with this same image, so you tell me why.
>>
>>3865104
I don't know what you're rambling about, sport.

I just do not understand what people see in Skyrim or why it's one of the best selling games of all time. If you're not interested in discussing that, go post in any of the other 100 threads on the board.
>>
>>3865095
the only people who still play this game are all the gooners that have been gooning to nude mods since they saw a square titty in morrowind. its popular because its a sandbox for their degeneracy.
>>
>>3865095
if you played it for 100 hours then its not boring. you had fun on a neurochemical level. its undeniable. if it actually was boring you'd just stop playing after 5 minutes.
>>
>>3865122
If I tell you a game is boring, that means I think it's boring. Don't tell me what I think.
>>
>I totally don’t care about this game at all but I’m going to sit here and argue with you about how much I don’t care about it
>>
>>3865129
Instead of getting emotional like a woman, you could attempt to explain WHY you enjoy it. You do know WHY you enjoy this specific game right? You have the mental capacity to dissect and summarise your specific likes and dislikes, right?

Criticism of something you like is not an attack on you as a person, learn this lesson and live it.
>>
>>3865095
it's popcorn gaming. turn your brain off and get drip fed dopamine while retaining nothing
>>3865126
action speaks louder than words
>>

it is sad how it's always this same screenshot.
>>
>>3865095
It's boring cause it's too easy and progression means nothing cause enemies level with you, therefore making leveling pointless

The defining part of an RPG is leveling, that's when the dopamine reward hits.

Install Requiem overhaul and it's a decent game
>>
>>3865095
Why the fuck would you play a boring game for 100 hours? What's wrong with you? Play a fun game instead.

It came out in the hayday of linear cover shooters and was easy enough for babies to play. Simply put, nostalgia.

It was like gta of it's time, a sandbox game with cool fantasy setting and ton if mods. Once you start noticing the flaws it ruins the experience.

First hour of the game:
>Escape from prison
>Meet the king
>Kill a dragon
>Get a free house
>Be told you're some once in a generation god

There's no real sense of progression or reward. The narrative was clearly designed for normies & women It's basically the BG3 of the early 2010's.

Can someone please argue with me?

All the way up to shouting at your problems to defeat them.

after i raked in my initial 300 hours, i realised that i basically don't remember most of what i did, nothing really stood out to me.

Maybe that's how people get so many hours out of it. You don't remember what you did so you don't mind repeating it over and over.

Nord theme is nice. Too bad most characters, and lore are written to be shitty, and there is already too much forced diversity. Skyrim have been reduced to be a podcast game for me, replay it once a year or so. Running around, and the stealth archer gameplay are somewhat less boring, if you listen to something actually intersting while doing it. Also there have been no replacement game, ESO is cancer from every picture I seen of it, other rpg-s suck even more, or have even less draw. Also helps that it runs on everything by now. I'm thinking of upgrading my graphics card to play Far Cry Primal on max graphics, to try that out, since that is probably similar experience as playing Skyrim while mostly ignoring the story. Basicly I need a podcast game, and have tried the most popular titles with low system requirement already.

Until I get my new card (only buy a really great deal, like $50 for a 1070 - 1080 Ti, near me, in great condition). Also since when did fucking PSU-s got so expensive? Used to be $10 get you anything no-name brand new, $30 for top tier brands, now everything starting from double, to triple or more of that, and a bunch of no-name cheapo brands dissappeared.

While I wait for a decent graphics card deal, I'll probably try Morrowind this winter, for the first time.

The biggest challenge is the programming itself.
The excitement comes from never knowing when your save file will suddenly crash. Every step could be your last. Suddenly the screen could just freeze and your adventure is over.

When Oblivion came out, I was disappointed with how generic the setting was compared to the predecessor. When TES V was announced to be in Skyrim, I thought "Of course, why pick anything actually interesting when you can do more of what you already did in Bloodmoon and Bruma".
>>
>>3865253
Yeah. Even the part in the DLC where you get to go to Morrowind and your first NPC encounter is some cunt in a bonemold helm giving you the "fuck you, outlander" treatment, feels strangely refreshing compared to the lifetime of free dick sucking you've been born into as Hero of Kvatch / Dragonborn.

As a poorfag, you might care to know that 900 series is the last generation to include a DVI-I port. You won't be able to use your VGA monitors without it, or without some shitty active converter that will cost you more money and probably won't work anyway.
>>
>>3865107
Why don't you remember the reasons that were posted the last dozen times you posted this thread?
>>
>>3865327
I use hdmi, poor, but not that poor. A decade ago bought a new 2gb 750 Ti, and by now I'm running out of things to do with it, and getting back to titles that I was too young for to ever try out (or at least too poor to have the hardware for when they were released originally, and much better games have came out by the time I had the hardware for them).

Now I try to buy a card that will add a least 5 years worth of content, that is new for me. Also those prices are not unreasonable, I see some $60 1070-s, but those are usually the ones in bad condition, there are more around $75, but buying is not that urgent for me. 1080-s start around $100, that is too much for me, 1080 Ti-s start around $150, no way that I would spend that much on anything used. Also interested in 1660 Super-s, but those are priced around 1070 level, and I'd pick the 1070 for the more ram. Also there are cheaper AMD cards with 8g ram, e.g. seen an RX 570 8g for $25, but that was listed as untested, and I don't want to gamble, also have been warned about AMD graphics cards, and I would not trust it to last 5 years. The issue about the geforce 900 series, that the ram is too little on them, and I doubt that they would last 5 years, e.g. every advertisment says they were re-pasted (there might be a different term for that in english), so they were already starting to break.

Also if you are knowledgable, which brands are the most reliable for graphics card? I favor MSI.

This is the guy saying BG3 sucks lol

There are limited directions to go with. Only the khajeet, and the argonian regions would be truly unique, and new, but those species are not that popular to begin with. Hammerfell isn't an option either, because most players hate redguards.

Skyrim landscape, and theme are fine, just the map size is too small, and it suck that it's stuck in perma winter, and in perma autumn in the rift. Cycling the seasons could be an interesting feature for a game, for those that spend hundreds of hours per run, they could see a few seasonal changes. Or make it perma summer at least. Could be fun if the game would be constantly upgraded by the devs, "streching the map out" (making it larger), and fixing bugs, making textures prettier, adding seasons. But not in an invasive way as fishing was added, and the crazy factions added, that ruin the GoG version of the game.

I played Oblivion recently, the original version, not remaster. Bruma was tiny, and it's biggest issue was the somalian looking guards. Also hated the mage tower from the add-on next to it.
>>
>>3865341
I mean yeah, BG3 does suck. The game is a fancy looking facade that falls apart under any scrutiny and the moment you don't exactly do what Larian wants you to.
>>
>>3865345
>Larian
there it is, guys

>>
>>3865345
Lol
>>
>>3865341
I didn't write about BG3 in any detail here (only joked about it when it came out), but seen the intro, and I'm not interested in the gay bear game. If the devs of that game would not have been faggots, they could have made a human male fuck a female bear, and that would have been funny, and still got a shock value, but they wanted male bear on man poopdick faggotry, and the entire game around it is just an excuse to show that into peoples face. Will never play that game, and look down on anyone who do.

It was the first RPG for babbys because they have no idea what an RPG is. Skyrim is not an RPG, by the way, for readers' information. Skyrim is an action-adventure shooter with a sloppy, minimalistic narrative structure.

And I mean absolutely oh my fucking god this is embarrassing bare ass minimum narrative.

One town was destroyed and one tower damaged. And I think you encounter a single burned caravan.
Fiery, but mostly peaceful dragons.

>Hammerfell isn't an option either, because most players hate redguards.
They said the same thing when GTA San Andreas got announced.

Also, you only seem to care about environments in terms of aesthetics. I'm talking about environments that facilitate interesting lore elements. Giant insects as a form of public transport. A guy who lives in a mushroom tower with no stairs and has a harem of women that he crafted out of his own flesh whom he calls "daughters". A disease caused by some rebel living inside a volcano with a giant machine spreading fumes into the atmosphere that causes the victims to grow excess flesh which they cut off and eat. It was painfully obvious they didn't want to do anything remotely as interesting anymore, so they picked the most generic fantasy setting available and made the story revolve about the most generic fantasy creature possible.
>>
>>3865363
>narrative structure.
Yet another retard thinking this has anything to do at all with whether or not a game is an RPG.

Skyrim's narrative components are perfectly compatible with an RPG. The only thing really taking away from Skyrim from being an RPG is the action combat.
>>
>>3865370
Giant insects is a hard sell, even after playing other titles from the lore, and seen one in Solstheim. It's just not fun, hated them in Fallout series too, not just the Bethesda ones, but also in the original two, and tactics as well. Mushroom towers are fine, and also the daughter thing is interesting though.

What else would an Elder Scrolls game have to add though? Riding a large cat as khajeet? Done in other titles already, and we seen large cats in zoos. Riding a large lizard as argonian? Jurassic World movies barely draw any interest. Also novelty won't necessary makes it good, it might makes it harder to suspend disbelief. E.g. the "Night to Remember", and the dead kings mind missions were cringe, and other daedra missions were just mediocre. I supposed you liked Blackreach under Skyrim, but that still draws from Morrowind, with a Dwemer spin, but also make it harder to suspend disbelief, having that large a hole under mountains (or at least the map scaling was poorly done). Hated the vampire vs dawnguard bit as well (why would two large castles like that would be left alone for so long), except the Forgotten Vale. Hated the disease causing daedra, and it's discarded vomitting followers too. Basicly I'm not a fan of anything magical in the game, and I'd prefer if it would be just specie/race based war. That is why I liked the nord Stormcloaks fighting against the multi-specie, multi-racial decadent Empire theme (especially after reading a couple of in-game books, showing how shitty the Septim-s were, e.g. Potema and her brothers).

As to San Andreas, I would not replay it, nor would I pick it up at the current era, if it would come out now. I'll likely skip VI. Still finished V, the forced inclusion of the black guy was cringe, and made me hate the game, that those parts could not be skipped. Disliked IV as well. Vice City was my favorite.
>>
>>3865378
>I liked the nord Stormcloaks fighting against the multi-specie, multi-racial decadent Empire theme
Yeah, I liked the *idea* of Stormcloaks and especially the Thalmor. Shame that the execution was extremely... shallow and pedantic.
>>
>>3865380
>liked the *idea* of Stormcloaks
True, it left a lot to be desired. Also some things were done insultingly low effort (e.g. opposing faction warcamps have officers marked as essential after the civil war). But I still discover new things on reruns occasionally, e.g. you can do a truce with the greybeards, and you can buy land on level 1 runs on territories where otherwise you could not, do to level requirement of the jarl's personal quests (e.g Markarth, Dawnstar), as they shift jarls pre-civil war with the truce (first time I picked this option, to feed Alduin less this run).

This is my question. If you played it for 10 hours and thought it was boring, why the fuck did you keep playing? Once you made it to 50 hours and still thought it was boring if you still played for 50 hours that's on you for being a fucking retard.
>>
>>3865387
>opposing faction warcamps have officers marked as essential after the civil war
Two Stormcloak camps missing quartermasters. It would take so little effort to fix these issues, could have done so with a patch.

If you were a man and not a slave you'd dump a game if it failed to entertain you within 10 minutes

It’s ok my guy youre in 4chan, just admit that youre racist and stop beating around the bush.
>>
>>3865874
tbf i don't hate black people, i don't really think about them at all, but i would never buy and play a game with a black male protag, i just cant relate and i like to be able to immerse myself in vidya. it's not just black people, i'd do the same if the protag is ginger or blond, or if he's too old or a woman.
>>
>>3865095
It's a gooning game. And I love it for that.
>>
>>3865095
you're playing it wrong. tons to do and have fun with
>>
>>3865874
>just admit that youre racis
Never claimed that I wasn't. When I first played San Andreas, wasn't yet though, due to lack of exposure, but even back than had no sympathy for any of the characters within the game. And in hindsight can spot anti-white elements in the game, such as how the farmers were depicted, whom you steal the combine harvester from.
>>
>>3865253
First hour of my game:
>Run around wilderness
>Hunt and skin some wolves (I'm bad at skinning)
>Hunt some deer (gotta sneek up on them to kill them before they run away)
>Run away from a bear
>Build a camp
>Life is good
>Tomorrow we're killing bandits
I hate interacting with people and modded skyrim is the perfect game for me.
>>
>>3865095
Because they can install booby mods and catgirl succubus mods.
>>
To me Skyrim was extremely fun and I envy people who get to play it for the first time with fresh eyes. It only got boring for me after 2000 hours, then I had to detox by playing other RPGs until I got the craving to play again and did so by playing the Skyrim mod Enderal. Enderal is Skyrim but with an actual main story worth a damn.
>>
>>3865095
I'd like to say the lewd mods since it's legitimately one of the best H-games around with them.
>>
Is there a way to use there an offline pirated (SE) creation kit, that would allow me to mod and build, or remove stuff?
