i'm enjoying this a lot but why is it considered to be rpg?
>>3866029You and your bros take up roles and go on a journey, going through a story completing quests and leveling up your characters, classic RPG stuff
>>3866029Why not ask that about every JRPG, ARPG, DRPG, or TRPG?"RPG" doesn't fucking mean anything at this point, and Borderlands is just a first person "ARPG".
>Ukraine just means "Borderlands"Oh no no no we got too cocky, Ukraine sisters
>>3868287>JRPGStats dictate character abilities.>ARPGIn isometric diablo style ones stats dictate character abilities.Same for deus ex.>DRPGStats dictate character abilities.>TRPGStats dictate character abilities.Borderlands, stats dictate jack shit since all the stats are tied to weapons with your skills barely affecting them until you hit lvl 30+. Simple, borderlands is a fps with very minimum rpg elements.
>>3868509RPG=Stats dictate character abilities and character abilities define player possibilities. This is why any action elements where player ability bypasses character limitations diminish the RPGness of a game.
>>3868509>Birderlans is a fps with very minimum rpg elements. And what, pray tell, is the threshold of rpg elements necessary for an RPG.
>>3868540>FF7:R is not an rpg
>>3866029Фapгyc пapaшa, нopм чeхлы вceгдa выбиpaли тpиaдy
>>3868612*чeлы, лoл
>>3866029Lemme put it this way, if you put a COD veteran who could headshot five men with a three-round burst into Borderlands 2 and gave him a Lv1 character with a Lv1 gun against Lv10 enemies he would be stonewalled completely because the damage scaling and level difference penalty would result in him doing 1 damage against enemies with 200HP.While skill helps, weapon stats are everything. The only benefit being a no-lifer FPS veteran would give is consistent crits which are only good for snipers.
