Do you like rpgs with 4 niggas or 3 niggas?
4-6.
>>3866075depends on the kind of rpg, like if it's niggas in a row i think 4 is the gold standard, other types of RPGs can vary. 6 feels nice for blobbers, 3 is very manageable for RPGs that operate in real time like KOTOR although DA:O did bump it up to 4 i think.

>>3866142Yep.
>>3866075jrpg i like 3 niggas, drpg I want two rows of 3 niggas.

>>3866075I like FF10 a lot, which is 3, but it conditional and you can switch members, which is great.Other RPGs I do tend to prefer 4. Has there ever been a system where some characters take up more slots? Like you can have 5 characters, but maybe some take up 2, so it reduces it to 3. That'd be interesting.
>>3866412It's more of a strategy game than an RPG, but large monsters in Ogre Battle take up multiple slots in a squad.

>>3866412Suikoden 2
>>38660756 niggas in 2 rows.
>>3866075Six niggas with another six in reserve. Sengoku Rance and Rance Quest turn this up even higher and Rance X takes it to an extreme>>3866412Final Fantasy X-2 does that with monsters. This is more of a wargame/ttrpg thing where units will have a cost that has to remain under a pre-defined limit.
>>3866075I prefer 4 since it feels like the minimum size needed for party members to be specialized. 3 feels like it's too small for party members to only really do one thing well, so they tend more everyone being kind of generalist to a point, or at best it's like DQ2 where you have one DPS, one support, and one in-between-y guy. That said, I really like 5 party members where you stick 3 in one row and 2 in the other. 6 party members is also good, but I think any more that is just trouble unless it's a Strategy RPG.
I know it's an epic meme because of a twitter post from 5 years ago but calling them 4 niggas is getting old. They're characters, or party members.
>>3866113How do you even play games?
>>38660758 niggas
>>3866075Six niggas. The party size along with large enemy groups really made SMT 1 and 2 feel like you were bringing a small army with you (by jarpig standards).
