this is actually a masterpiece that rivals 1 and 2 and actually bests them in many ways
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h7lifTfHA7oSeems cool. Might try it if I ever want to play the games again with the only thing stopping me being how I've already played them to death.
>>3867819one has to wonder why Bethesda, or indeed any RPG publisher, doesn't push/endorse/officially release fan-made games like these. there are plenty people who don't mind poor graphics or re-used assets, certainly enough to justify the cost of production. just have Larian hire a bunch of dorks and give them enough resources to finally make Baldur's Gate 3though I suppose Bethesda is already doing that, to some degree, with the creation club stuff. only, to the worse degree they could find
It's too hard, like most mod slop it's for the autisics that played the original game to death.call me bad but if the originals were this difficult, they wouldn't be classics. they would be really annoying fucking games. Olympus showed me why it was a good idea actually for radiation to only be in like area in fallout 1.to all inspiring mod makers, have someone who never really played the original try your content
>>3867875really? it's honestly not that hard. there's no time limit or anything so you can explore the map and take your time to level up before approaching certain locations and quests. the use of skills is very balanced - there are plenty of uses for every skill which reward you with experience, loot, and access to quests, people, or locations. it's definitely harder than fallout 1 because they removed the rng element from most skills and there is considerably less "free" loot to find or steal from npcs. but with some save scummuing and proactive exploration you shouldn't have a lot of problems
>>3867819not that difficult considering how garbage the 2 was>Bethesda themepark but made by Black Isle in 2D, let us sprinkle plethora one quest locations everywhere and make the only sensible quest hub New Reno, fuck you>let's make fun of previous game for no reason (Super Mutant reproduction, Water Chip surplus, Bottle Caps)>gay marriage, gay rape by supermutant>BoS delegated to cuckshed>final boss fight revolves around chugging stimpaks until Frank runs out of ammo>barely any content for evil characters(why even bother getting slaver tattoo)>little to no reactivity in the world to player's decisions
>>3867980>the 2https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_4vtVF5HEQQ
>>3867819Sonora with Dayglow felt like the perfect amount of stuff to do for a classic Fallout playthrough. FO1 was too short, and FO2/Nevada were too long and their settlements too disjointed.
>>3867819It's good, but it doesn't do a good job of establishing interesting towns like the originals. They're built much more realistically in his games which I think is a genuine detriment.
>>3867819I like Nevada more.
>>3868404>which I think is a genuine detriment.lol no
masterpiece i dont know about that but im no criticfun? yes i loved it it was a blast and a great play!
>>3868484Fallout should never take itself too seriously
>>3868686fuck off Emil
>>3868031>needs druggie eceleb to tell him what to thinkmud golem, no independent thought just enough presence of mind to register commands
>>3867875>to all inspiring mod makers, have someone who never really played the original try your contentI would think total conversion mods aren't really for people who wouldn't touch the original, it kinda misses the point
>>3869173I would assume the point is to be its own game in a mod form that just uses another game as its building point.I want to like a lot of these and rom hacks which have tons of love and passion poured into them but the issue is that they are made by people who non stop played the originals usually making them annoyingly difficult in comparison to the source forgetting that 99% of people are not them. Im just saying if you want people to actually see your work, you can’t do half of the shit people do in these things. The one i got the furthest in was Olympus 2207 enjoying its intro quite a hit until i left the first area and suddenly radiation was everywhere I rather just go play something else, and if fallout 1/2 had that much radiation everyone would have said the same to those games 25 years ago
>>3869116thank you saar
