It's still a few months away. How many of you played the first game?
I'm wondering if they'll have something similar to the blood code memory sequences.
>>3868818I played it. It was decent. Probably like 6/10. Interesting story concept that would have been cooler if it wasn't anime and had a bloodborne style. The combat also felt a bit stiff/sluggish. Hopefully they improve on that for the second one.
>>3868818i bought it a long time ago but never got into it enough to finish it, i don't dislike or like the anime style so that's not a big thing to me, why should i play it?

These games are always so bland. Another soulslike game with a big ass character creation module and zero rpg elements (besides picking a new hat).
The first game was like Dark Souls, except it had an actually story that wasn't stitched together by youtube content farms. This sequel is supposed to be more "open world" like Elden Ring. But it's hard to gauge that from the previews.
>>3868837>zero rpg elements (besides picking a new hat).I mean the game isn't amazing, but you can't say there's zero rpg elements. It still has different builds with stats, weapon types, armor, abilities, etc. Can do multiple play throughs and it feels like a different game every time.
>>3868818>>3868819Goddamn, that's some awful character design. Jap zoomers are so shit.

>>3868818>>3868819>>3868843>>3868935Fucking hell it looks so much worse than the previous game and aesthetics is all that one had going for it.
Only if Go Shiina makes the soundtrack again.
>>3868907you can't even distribute stats yourself, you have to pick one of the presets, dumb af
>>3868818I don't like soulslop games so I skipped the first one. Most likely won't touch the second one.
>>3868818Played the first game on release, dropped it shortly after the cathedral.Almost all the weapon types aside from one-handed swords and bayonets feel like shit to use. Especially when most enemies seem intended for a faster fight. There's very little sense of impact from landing blows too. At least The Surge (mostly) remembered that heavy weapons exist. The Blood Code system felt too limiting on character building. Level design was uninteresting from what I played, too simple. One of the bigger letdowns of the subgenre, I was pretty excited for it.
>>3868819Remember how the memories were presented like stone statues?Based on the trailed there are statues in the "present", since they're time traveling into the past. Presumably the statues will change as you rewrite history.
>>3868818I played and liked the first game a lotI have complaints, but they're mostly springing from it being low budget and stretching content and I find that not as bad as expensive mistakes

>>3868818I played the first game, expected it to be a 5/10 slop, but ended up enjoying it. Yes it had its problems, but at least it had interesting skills, and you can restore MP on hit, both of which Miyazaki is allergic to. Fairly excited for the second game, hope it doesn't run like ass (it will) and improves on the first game.
I enjoyed the first game, it's by no means stellar and has a lot of issues, but it was fun enough for me to do multiple playthroughs, enjoyed the characters. Liking God Eater probably helped . I'm extremely mad that 2 is entirely unrelated and just uses the same name, instead of being a proper sequel, and the art direction looks pretty ass. At least there will be more Go Shiina bangers.
its gonna have DENUVO
