>gear that provides out-of-combat bonusesTerribleHorrible designNobody wants to equip their hat of +2 speech before a conversation, or a thief vest of +1 lock picking
youre supposed to sacrifice better stats for utility. Why are you unequipping your good gear just to get a small boost if thats not the specialisation youre going for in the first place? Stop trying to metagame and pick a lane>Toolbox gives me +35% chance to craft for free>Im spec'd into crafting>i unequip the Ammo Belt that gives me +12% extra ammo of enemies
>>3869013shut up idiot. just don't put skill check stats on equipment. just make them give you the stats while sitting in inventory if you want that kind of thing - in that case put them on a tool set or something for repair, etc. It's so obvious I bet they thought of it and somehow it's impossible in bethesda's engine
>heavy armor is better>but slows me down when I explore!WHAT LE FUCK DEVS?
>>3869010I always wear my gamer gloves and get my mountain dew before some hardcore gaming session. It's just good RP inspired by real life
Thank god I wasn't born an autistic minmaxer>>3869678>it's impossible in bethesda's engineIt's possible.
>>3869678>just don't put skill check stats on equipment. just make them give you the stats while sitting in inventoryBad design and kills build variety.Equipment should only be re-equipable at home/camps, that way it prevents you min-maxing every encounter without killing builds outright and your character can only carry 1-2 swords/wands as alternatives. Not a whole armoury.
>>3869010>Nobody wants to equip their hat of +2 speech before a conversation, or a thief vest of +1 lock pickingGetting dressed up for an important conversation is completely in-character for Fallout.
>>3869010Jsawyer Ultimate rebalances bonuses a bit, but yeah, even then it's usually not great, not worth the effort to carry some outfit around just for small bonus, even if it's like +10 when rebalanced. Much better to have those skill magazines, especially with a perk that gives you +20 from them.
Bethesda weren't very serious when it came to their games back before Skyrim, you played Oblivion? Goofy ahh game
>>3870165Serious has never been a thing in any Bethesda game, lil' wannabe git.

>>3869010I feel like this is one of those problems that comes about as an unintended consequence of having essentially infinite inventory spaceperhaps also from time being meaningless?if you have a magical lock picking vest, sure, it makes sense to carry it around instead of any other useful itembe careful, though, while you're putting it on you risk a monster sneaking up on you>>3869761>Getting dressed up for an important conversation is completely in-character for Fallout.this is true. but imagine if you had to go back to your room because you can't carry everything with you and you can't just change your pants in the middle of the street. you would probably not bother for trivial conversations, but you would definitely do that to prepare for more important conversations, and it would feel pretty immersive. if you care about that sort of thing
>>3870236>you can't just change your pants in the middle of the streetWypipo don’t season they streets
