Have you ever played the Westerner's version of "We have Final Fantasy at home"? I remember reading about it in gaming magazines as a child and dreaming about playing it, just as I dreamt about playing Final Fantasy 7. Never touched Silver, because I thought FF7 sucked enough itself.银色幻想 thread, also known as Silver.

It's funny how basically everyone thought this was a Final Fantasy inspired game just because it used a similar graphics technology, and they otherwise have absolutely nothing in common and Silver started using it before FF VII even hit the previews.
>>3880257Yeah, I've played through it a few times because the game has nice art and music. It's not an RPG, though. More of an action game with a boss inverting your controls or you having to reflect projectiles by timed blocking. But it really takes you places, peak western fantasy aesthetic. Didn't Square also get a lot of western artists to help with FF7 because they were new to 3D?

>>3880834It's funny how, growing up, I was lead to believe that Septerra Core is also Western made Final Fantasy 7, but then I played Chrono Trigger this year and I realized how almost all the bad parts of Septerra were copied from that instead. Maybe a tiny bit of the steampunk aesthetic, like in Oasis, has some slight resemblance to FF7, but otherwise 99% of the JRPG inspirations are from the other "big one". I would like to say that Chrono Trigger at least has less grind than Septerra Core, but I'm already feeling it escalate after the future island. And everything that Septerra does that Chrono Trigger didn't? Made Septerra a better game. At least, until the last third of the game, that's straight up unplayable.
Why is this game called 银色幻想?The wiki page on it makes it seem like it was made in America and doesn't have any moonrunes on the page. Did the devs just decide to name the game in chinese for fun?
