I found it really weird and subversive that Milda's husband was a bull.

>>3884607wtf I'm in the middle of playing this fucking spoilers!!
Grandia is solid. I tried to replay it twice already and just kept dropping it. One day I'll play through. Emulating I just sped up everything to grind levels easily and maybe that made it lose the charm. I should get it for Switch so I can't do that, then play while I'm pooping, something younger me would have loved.

>>3886789I bought the collection on a whim for Switch and it's the best jrpg I've ever played. Granted I haven't played that many jrpgs, but it was still fantastic. Grandia 2 was kind of disappointing and I've heard Grandia 3 is a rancid dog turd.
>>3884607I feel like I understand the combat in theory, but not practice. The way enemies behave on the timeline doesn’t seem to be the same as your party, in that they’re readying actions before they hit that point. But I’m also just in the mines with the first two characters, so I don’t expect battles to be super tactical at this point or anything.
>>3884607i just started playing Grandia for the first time 2 days ago. The Saturn version fan translation. It's very "gamey" for lack of a better phrase. Everything about it screams generic jrpg, and it leans into the goofy anime hijinks a bit too much. I'll see if it improves later in the game.
>>3887641>in that they’re readying actions before they hit that point.its a visual cue to help the player. the enemies give a hint for the skill they will use well in advance so that you can have time to plan.
is this game actually good or it just another generic anime rpg like breath of fire
>>3887794i'm 6 hours in and it feels very similar to breath of fire 3.
>>3887794Actually good and so it BoF
>>3887624>I bought the collection on a whim for Switch Oof
>>3887769>Everything about it screams generic jrpg, and it leans into the goofy anime hijinks a bit too much. I'll see if it improves later in the game. Its literally THE anime game, borrowing a lot from those classic children adventure anime. Sounds like you've just never seen any anime before the 2000's.
>>3887790I know they get that sparkle and it tells you the ability they're using, but unless I'm mistaken it doesn't look like they play by the same rules as you on the timeline. Is the word bubble them readying a regular attack?I'm still having fun and I'm not struggling in fights or anything, I would just like to better understand the system. I only just realized SP recovers gradually and special moves give weapon XP, so I acknowledge I'm kind of retarded and I didn't read the manual very well.>>3887855Apparently you can remove the filter by deleting some files, but it's still going to be the PS1 version.
>>3887855>>3887878You disable some lines. It's LITERALLY just a filter.
>>3887906Does the filter also remove the water too?
