There was no attempt to distinguish from the different types of CRPGs in any meaningful way.
>>3886594Are there any decent crpg coming out?

>There was no attempt to distinguish from the different types of CRPGs in any meaningful way.Because it's not a meaningful distinction. There are games that are CRPGs and there are games that are not CRPGs.Disco Elysium is an adventure game that is a CRPG.Alpha Protocol is an action game that is a CRPG.Baldur's Gate 3 is a tactics game that is a CRPG.Fallout: New Vegas is a action game that is a CRPG.Pillars of Eternity is a tactics game that is a CRPG.Determining whether any of these games are "solo" or "party-based" would tell you nothing about whether there is roleplaying in any of them, because roleplaying consists in nothing more than the sum aggregate capacity of the game to recognise and respond to player choices in facsimile way that a real tabletop RPG responds to player choices.

CRPG just means computer RPG, it's not meant to differentiate. same as "console RPG".
>>3886665you messed up BG and BG3 orderBG3 has far more customizable companions, you can lvl them from lvl 1 and change their classesjust like they were PCsoriginal BG has set starting attributes and classes up to a level
>>3886665From left to right:>Wizardry, Etrian OdysseyNo single character is the "Main Character". All of the founding members of the party can be kicked out or killed. Funny enough this applies to FF6 as well.>Divinity Original Sin 2The other party members can be leveled similarly to the MC but the MC has a few minor rules that only applies to them such as mandatory inclusion into the party, their deaths resulting in a game over, or exclusive access to the character creation.>Fear & HungerYou have full control of the other party members but don't have the same degree of customization. You have full control of them for tactical reasons.>Fallout, ArcanumThey are called companions instead of party members since they will do their own thing and only tag-a-long.>Underrail, VtMBNo, allies beyond mission exclusive situations like gang wars or escort quests.
>>3886826>mc deaths resulting in a game overNo?
