i've played very little of them and while i've had a lot of fun with the ones i've played i haven't been particularly hooked to the genre because i don't know where to go next. oddly enough i love listening to a shitton of jrpg OSTs (especially SNES ones) but that's about it.i've only really played basic things like>mother series>chrono trigger>the world ends with youwhat could be a good next point? i wanna get used to the long playtimes as well.

>>3890461appreciated.>>3890467thank you too. for the record, i have no issues with older NES or SNES games.
>>3890468If you haven't played it, TWEWY's recent-ish sequel NEO: TEWEY is just as good if not better than the original. If you want to tackle Dragon Quest, they've recently done HD-2D remakes of the original trilogy from the 80s. Beyond QOL features that make them pretty smooth to play, they expanded abilities, added bosses fights, and pretty much redid DQII, which was originally a rush-job and now given polish to not be the automatic worst entry in the series. Similarly, DQXI S is also a great modern starting point.I wish that I could be as enthusiastic for FF, but most of its modern remasters are piss-poor and are at best a basis for modding on Steam--at that point, why not just fucking emulate? FFXII HD is about the only worthwhile rerelease. If any of the FF games look nifty from just a plot synopsis or art design, give it a whirl. Most of them have something going on, though I am less inclined to promote the HD era entries.Atlus's latest major releases are pretty good with SMTV: Vengeance, Persona 5 Royal or Persona 3 Reload, and Metaphor: ReFantazio. Pretty much all of these are available on every platform, easy enough to pick up, and regularly go on sale.
>>3890468>thank you too. for the record, i have no issues with older NES or SNES games.FFVI is a must play
>>3890467>Expedition 33Not a JRPG.>Final Fantasy XVINot an RPG at all.
>>3890458God damn I wish TWEWY emulated better. I miss it.
>>3890473>>3890480added to the list, thanks for the detailed suggestions!
>>3890458Play the sequel, more action than pure JRPG but it's a worthy successor. Regardless, based Sho post
Deception 4: blood ties, not sure if you can emulate it.
